Is it worth it to send it in to be fixed?
I have about 400 rounds through my CW9 and I noticed this when I cleaned the gun.
Is the rail supposed to be chipped?
Will it affect the function if it is chipped?

All or most Kahrs have that mark for alignment or something. A lot of people ask that question for some reason.

Awesome.
Thanks for the help.
My understanding is that all Kahrs have that notch on the left slide rail. It is supposed to be some sort of elinement detent for rails when they are assembled into the polymer frames. All of my Kahrs have them.

It seems to me that it is the witness mark used to align the slide and frame for take-down. The information is on their web site and in the information booklet that they give with each pistol.
