My first range outing with my PM45 had a consistent 3rd round failure to load so I quickly learned to clear it and continued getting used to the gun. After the outing with 60 rounds I cleaned the gun and used toothpaste to polish the feed ramp area. I spent about a half hour polishing. Thanks to the newb stickie posts for help with that.
Today I shot my second box of 100 WWB thru my PM45. I am starting to get more used to it but feel confident enough with it that it is my EDC. A friend put me through some rapid fire defensive scenarios in which I need to improve but left me satisfied that I could handle an attack. I worked at between 9 yards down to 3 yards attacking the threat and at one point two threats. He had me rapid fire, which I still need improvement on, and got used to the rather long trigger reset. I used his Glock 17 early on to do double taps at 25 yards and I stayed within 8". He was trying to get me working faster with my Kahr but that is a work in progress.
All in all a good training day and no failures at all with the PM45. After about 90 rounds into two larger targets I couldn't resist putting up the color target. I shot two mags quickly but not rapid fire and am pleased (maybe even surprised) that the first three were center, which might have caused me to lose focus and not do as well as I should have. The 10th round is at the very bottom just nicking the paper. The target was at 7 yards and is a 6" square. Were the target a bad guy he would have some leakage. Lots of room for improvement but still a good day.
