I just purchased a cm 40 yesterday, and took it to the range after 100rds or so I gun stopped holding back on the empty magazine. I removed the magazine and saw it was broken. So I purchased another magazine and about 50 rds later the same thing. I had a cm9 a couple yeas ago that kept doing the same thing.. I wanted to give kahr another chance, looks like I made the wrong choice. They know about magazine issues but wont fix them. just want to send another magazine or send it in for warranty. A brand new gun should not be sent for warranty. The gun shoots great its just the magazines suck. It looks like where the magazine catch engages the slide stop is where it keeps breaking..Idk any help on fixing this issue would be great like I said the gun rocks but magazine sucks..

That sucks. I have a CM40 also. I bought a 6rn mag off eBay before I even got the gun. I've only put about 75 rnds through it using both mags, with no issues. I'll be going to the range as soon as my sis is ready. I don't like these mags, but so far no issues. I just took a look, and when I rack the slide with an empty mag, it doesn't lock open, I have to push the mag up to get it to lock. Sooo. it will be something I'll be watching when I get to the range.

This area might help. http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?26073-Joined-the-Ranks-of-Broken-Follower

I had the same problem with my CM40. It has been observed by some that the lower lip of the feed ramp slams into the follower on the last round. I used a small, fine file and removed a very small portion of the bottom of the feed ramp. It solved my problem. If you go this route, let us know what you discover.

From what i have seen the follower breaks where the slide stop lever engaes the magazine on the last round hold open ..its like the follower is to weak and breaks

The little tit on the follower that engages the stop is metal, and it's encased in the plastic follower. The metal takes the punishment and just transfers it to the follower. Metal always beats plastic.

I see that and that's the piece that keep breaking is the lil metal tit atleast from what I can see, but I did notice the bottom of the feed ramp does impact the follower as well so maybe that is what is doing it
