I think I mentioned that I was on the hunt for some wood grips for my SW637-2. I was having a hard time finding grips that are as comfortable as the standard rubber Uncle Mikes. So I ran across a set of used 3 finger grips and cut them down similar to bantam size. Shaped them to mimic the rubber ones. Oiled 'em up and now I'm happy. Something to be said for the feeling of wood in your hands. :)
pic1 = before I started working on the grips
pic2 = me running out to grab a quick pic before the sun went down
pic3 = close up after the final shaping.

That looks really nice. I pocket carry my j frame all the time and those wood grips are really appealing. I still have the rubber ones on mine.

^^^ that's hot Barth. The frame, crane and barrel are Ti? The cylinder and ejector are stainless? And that's chambered for .357 right?
If this turn into a picture thread...that would be sweet!

LOL!
Most of the gun is aluminum alloy.
I believe only the cylinder is Titanium.
Barrel sleeve is Stainless Steel and I added a real Stainless Steel trigger.
Don't know about the ejector.
Had the trigger rounded and polished for DA.
It requires jacketed bullets and is +P rated.
I run Speer GDHP Short Barrel +P.

Since I'm a Ruger fan, I looked at LCR's for a long time and just couldn't pull the trigger :o. But the secret to a J-frame is it feels heavy without BEING heavy...if that makes sense.

I often forget my 11.5 oz gun is in my pocket.
It's a great back up gun or deep cover gun.
For a last chance gun it's remarkably accurate.
I carry it more than any other gun.
It's my go to back up gun.

I like my 3" SP101 that I dressed up with wood grip panels, and what a difference that made in appearance.

That looks like Wenge wood on them grips. Has the S&W medallion though, never seen that.

Nice work on those grips but don't say ever "Something to be said for the feeling of wood in your hands".
Mom told me I would go blind.

Nice looking wood there folks. I put the VZ G-10grips on my EDC 642. A very practical grip set, but not nearly as pretty!

Love those short wood grips. Something like that would look better on my old Airweight than these Pachs...
