Was shooting my kahr today then I took the magazine apart as I have done before and I lost the locking base. It's the part that goes between the spring and baseplate with the little nub on it. I cant find it anywhere. It might have gone into the wall mounted air conditioner. I took it apart as much as I could and no luck. If it's in there I won't be able to get it. So where can I get a new one and fast.

I ordered this. I think it will work with my ct9
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kahr-MK9-K9-K40-E9-Pearce-Grip-Extension-2-per-package-PGMK9-Free-Shipping/221720499751?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%2 6asc%3D29384%26meid%3D2c306c392feb4d61a190204a0559 6d57%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D1914 16680243&rt=nc
I hope it works. It says not for 45 or 380 or for cw frames. Kahrs website sells them and it says Fits all Kahr magazines except .45 ACP and .380 ACP

You can buy a magazine base lock directly from Kahr Arms. The cost $8.80 + shipping. An expensive lesson to be sure.

Please don't ask me why I keep a spare on hand! Murphy loves me.

SIG has basically the same design in their magazines. I've learned the hard way to place my thumb over the base plate when sliding it out to catch the locking plate and follower spring. I'd just order the part from Kahr and maybe a spare for insurance.

I usually find my missing gun parts in the last place that I look for them. Once I find them there no sense in looking any further. :) I found the striker spring guide rod inside of a roll of tape hanging on the peg board. Took me two days to find it. It's amazing how well those little parts can hide. I should have looked there first.

I keep spares for all kinds of stuff... especially small parts and things I've already lost at least once... like the 9mm extractors... PM9... P9... and K9! A case failure(blowout) will make those things disappear... found 1 out of 3!
I have spares for all pistols... Kahrs and Glocks.

Thats the first thing I did with my CT 380- pulled apart the mag- and..."fling"..........and...bye bye birdie. Ordered a replacement from Kahr...wound up about $19 with shipping.
Thankfully.....I had already ordered a new mag from Exile Machine.
IF....you have any other single stack 9mm mags.....you may get lucky and find something that will work on one of them. Provided the lock-tit is in the right place!
Edit: The part you ordered looks like it will work.

try this: works for me and takes alot of pressure offthe floor plate, stick a nail thru the last hole in the magazine when taking it apart, then u can control the follower and inner plate better and when assebly push in that spring as far as it will go and insert a nail in the hole that locks that spring back and the floor plate and locking plate weill slide in with no hindrance. Also a very slight crimp on the outter floor palte will lock it o the magazine tighter to..

I did just this last week after reading your post in the prep forum, really does make assembly and disassembly of the mags a breeze. Thanks!

Wow! 25 cents worth of plastic, and rip-off shipping costs = $19
Shipping and handling costs are getting ridiculous, or am I just getting cheaper?

The pearce grip extensions already arrived in the mail and the locking base does fit fine it's a little thinner than the original. But kahr is sending me one for free so I will try to re-sell the pearce grip extensions. I turned my apartment upside down looking for that thing. I'm pretty sure it's in the air cooler behind the radiator. I love my kahr. Bought new and not one single issue. Have only put about 600 through it. I did sand a little burr off the side of the feed ramp though.

I got the part from kahr so it's all good. Not sure if I'm allowed to do this but if anyone wants the grip extensions I'll give you a deal on them. I can mail them and you pay me via paypal.

Believe it or not- the lock plate I lost a month ago- I found yesterday. Was cutting grass- pulled up to edge of garage to take a break in the shade. Looked down and saw it under the edge of the car. It was less than 3 feet from where I was standing when it went ballistic. I thought I heard it hit the back wall when I lost it- so I was looking in the wrong place. But there it was- right where I lost it.

My mom was a mail carrier for 30 plus years. Every morning go in at o dark thirty and punch the time clock.
She lost a diamond out of her ring, looked all over for a very long time and wrote it off.
Over a year later, she punches the clock and notices something shiny on the floor, sho nuff, found her diamond. Happy day.
I spect the custodian out to be fired though, obviously not doing to good a job on the floors.
I had a 77 Ford 4x4 pickup for many years, back when they had wing windows, great invention those. The little latch at times needed to be removed and tightened as they would work loose over time.
I was doing this like a fool on a gravel driveway when I dropped the little detent spring. Grrrrr?? I looked and looked and damned if I could find it.
Finally I gave up and decided to do the other side. Put down a blanket in case I dropped that one.
Came up with the brilliant idea to take that one and drop it from it's slot on the first side, I know your thinking might as well buy two new ones as one. Well the durn thing fell within half an inch of the one I dropped, watched it fall and put both side back together successfully.
Happy dance!

I've done that with all kinds of things. Quite often I will lay another of the same item in the possible area just to see what it looks like... contrast or not... very helpful sometimes!
