"They've banned private ownership of firearms in England. Is that what you're calling for here?"

blackpowder shooting too, oh my.

there has been mass murders and heinous gun crimes in England and they do have the anti-gun folks, haters and people who would ban everything.
from the statistics over the last 50 years you can kind of see how gun crimes and gun haters go hand in hand. banning guns is one of those obvious knee jerk solutions to what appears to be the problem. it's cops who can't shoot, politicians who can't hunt birds without shooting a lawyer, 9yr. old girls with machine guns, and of course, every gun toting bad guy that gives guns a bad name, something has to be done. any suggestions?

Guess England forgot what happened to them in WW2........
I hope the USA don't have to give them guns again to fight the bad guys.....

We could ban stupidity and pie in the sky, totally "rose colored glasses" views of the world and mankind...

Should work every bit as good as their attempts to legislate morality.

ah geez, for those who can't click on a link and read with comprehension, here-

Shooters spend £2.5 billion each year on goods and services
Shooting supports the equivalent of 74,000 full time jobs
Shooting is worth £2 billion to the UK economy (GVA)
Shooting is involved in the management of two-thirds of the rural land area
There are 4 million (est) airgun owners – of which 1.6 m shoot live quarry
600,000 people in the UK shoot live quarry, clay pigeons or targets
Shoot providers spend nearly £250 million a year on conservation
Shooters spend 3.9 million work days on conservation – that’s the equivalent of 16,000 full-time jobs
Two million hectares are actively managed for conservation as a result of shooting
the funny "L" is the Brit symbol for Pound or about $2.
hope this helps.

No need to reiterate these web site messages. I clicked the links and saw the messages and my comment still stand. All anti gunners are the same, Be they Brit, Aussie, Commie, Fascist, pacifist or an super rich former mayor of New York...

"if we just take away those bad, bad guns, the whole world will come together and sing in perfect harmony". Me I'm going to grab a cold coke and watch all the nice "unarmed" people of the word bash each other with clubs.

Should be a hell of a show. Anti gunners are all the same and we can thank the Brits for showing us that if we lose this 2A rights fight, then logic and fact won't get those rights back.

In order to have a gun in England you must be a member of a gun club. You can't have a gun at home. The guns must remain locked up at the gun club. You must account for every round of ammunition that you purchase and expend. Do you call that freedom, marcinstl?

At least when my Brit friend lost his fight with cancer two years ago, his son could inherit his shotguns - provided he join his local shooting club.

Bet that won't last very long, and whenever the UK is faced with another major threat like they did with Hitler, the limeys will be begging again to "borrow" hunting rifles from the American public.
