no agonizing on this deal, Kahrs are gone, botta bing. now what? that's the easy part, found a virgin, unfired, 2004 S&W Mdl. 36 for carry. also came across a Ruger P-90, that's a P-series in .45acp. has the weight and heft to have fun shooting .45acp. the P-series Rugers can, like a 1911, be carried, probably in the winter. now that I'm on kind of a roll here, does anybody have a navy blue 1968 Eldorado they'd part with?

I had a Ruger P series, P94. That is one of the few guns I've ever sold. I have no regrets. It was just alright and did not hold many rounds for such a huge piece.

had 3 Kahrs, CW45, CW9, CM9. other than the lack of service with a smile I recieved getting the defective CW45 repaired(replaced frame), I had no problems with Kahrs, always shot good, took a while to get with the trigger, a Kahr would have worked if I needed it. after a certain point in shooting you get enough experience and refine your tastes and maybe don't need all the compromises that went into the Kahr design. I like the DA snubbie, I also like the exposed hammer and SA capability. if 5 rounds of 158gr. soft lead hollow point wadcutters doesn't work, call the SWAT team. same with the 8 shot .45. I'm not like current day police that have the 12ga. in the trunk buried under donut boxes and copies of Hustler, my Mr. Mossberg is right at hand, often a companion in the car. (much of metro St.Louis is not civilized.) anyway, so much metal, so little time, I'll leave the poly guns to the youngsters.

If they made a 15oz all metal gun that fit in my pocket, then maybe.

I've a P90, never have any problems with it. However, if you do have any problems with one (P90), I've read Ruger's support for them is very limited. With that in mind, I've acquired some spare parts from various sources. The only part I can remember reading of failing is the mag catch spring.

I'm very fond of my non-magnum frame model 36, but i'd still like to add a non-magnum frame model 60 to the collection.
Here's my 36 ang my magnum frame 60-9:

I have a relatively early M60. Well uned action and I bobbed the hammer. It's a wonderful heavier/steel frame carry J-frame. One of my never part with guns.

Gave away my FIL's '75 Caddy El Dorado coupe after he died in '82. It was in a tan color though - it had just rolled 50,000 miles. Gave it to his brother.

About a month before he passed, his house cleaning "service" stole the Colt 1911 .45 he had carried in Italy during WWII.

Have you considered a Ruger SP101?

Greg,
it's a shame those hammers broke off, must have really been working them huh? S&W can fix those. hehehehehe. there's fellow, retired rural LE, that comes into my favorite gun store, he buys black powder and cartridge loading supplies there. his carry gun is a Cimarron Thunderstorm, 45Colt, 3 1/2" barrel. that rides in a formed, open top holster. there's a bulge in his untucked shirt, nothing serious or alarming. he says with some practice you don't think about cocking the hammer, just look at the target and then the target has a hole in it. cowboys, gotta love 'em.

I figured the caddy was for the wife. You get a pistol, she gets a car. All in the presentation...

Yep, damaged goods :), but ya can still thumb bust'em: the 60 is pretty easy to do so while the 36 takes a little finessehttp://www.pic4ever.com/images/cowboypistol.gif

I remember back in my young days, I used to work on them in the mid 70's. The Bill Blass Edition, now that I think about it, was hilarious. Blue and white, with those anchors on the leather seats, for those guys that wore the white boating hats:D
