I sort of feel foolish, but I really didn't compare my new cw380 to lets say a ruger lcp 380. I was on a different forum and a guy was saying his cw380 was much bigger than a lcp... is that true, I know the cw is a couple oz more than lcp.

It sure looks like it, almost like the size of the PM series. Its pocketable and certainly more pleasant to shoot than the ruger.. the ruger lcp was a copy of the kel tek 380 and now that I think ab out it the cw380 is alot bigger..

Big isn't too bad as long as it fits and feels good in your pocket. I got my eyes on a CT380. Thin is in.

Maybe I just have big paws, but the thing already seems tiny for me to hold onto.
According to this comparison, the p or cw is smaller in almost every dimension:

I have both, and the kahr is bigger but in a good way. The kahr is still small enough for anyone to conceal with ease but shoots 20 times better than the ruger. I have big hands but the ruger is just too small for me to get any kind of good grip. If it wasn't a gift from my father in law it would have been sold long ago.

The LCP is a bit shorter in length and not as tall as the CW380, but is somewhat thicker (.82" vs .75").
My CT380 is longer & taller than both guns, but like the CW380, is thinner than the LCP. In fact the CT380 is longer & taller than the CM9.
My old LCP & the new CT380 - the Kahr is a heckuva lot easier to shoot because it fits my hand much better:

I've had both. The Kahr p and cw 380s are maybe 1½ oz heavier than the LCP. The dimensions really are a "wash" - Kahrs give you a little more grip, a little less length, and are a little skinnier but we're not talking about anything significant. These are really small guns. IMO however the Kahrs are more substantial and shootable weapons.

I've got a Kel-Tec P32, which is even smaller than the LCP. It is of course smaller than my P380 but not by much. The only thing I really notice is the difference in weight, as the P32 is so light it easily goes in a light jacket pocket without weighing it down. For carrying in a jean pocket it makes no difference.

I am so much happier with my CW380 than with my LCP.
the size/weight difference is absolutely negligible as they will both disappear in a pocket.
To be honest im still convinced the kahr is smaller and bigger in the right places, mainly being able to get a 2 finger purchase on the grip, where as I added a pearce grip extension (larger than the included factory extension) to get a comfortable grip on the LCP.
I also added a hogue hybrid sleeve for the LCP which thickened it up a bit, but made it more pleasant to shoot.
Still not as nice to shoot as the cw380, in terms of grip, sights, recoil, and trigger. I am much more accurate, and faster to followup with the Kahr.
Going back to the grip for a minute, it just feels awkward on the LCP without the hogue, like too wide front to back, too square maybe?
The only thing is, im sorry to say that in my own experience, my LCP has been dead nuts reliable at the range. I cant say the same for the Kahr, however i am trying to shoot it more and more to get that kind of confidence, as my kahrs in general (at least a couple of mine) dont get the level of confidence that i have in other guns --- as always YMMV

For pocket pistols, I've had at one time or currently own the LCP, P32, LWS32, P238, BG380 and CW380. There are some slight size and weight differences among them, but they all fit my jeans pockets just fine. The P238 and CW380 are my favorites for shootability.

+1 Slowburn and also what John Q said above. They said what I would tell you so...

well , eat my shorts, photos don't lie but liars do lie. I stated I thought the cw was to big, and I have no clue what got into me for I had a P380 and they are the same size that the little gun is ab out as smallas u can find.. Sorry about that, the one I seen in the dealer case just looked so big that I thought they maybe made a big 380- WRONG. Nice photo Beardog. the parts are in the mail by thge way..

Thats OK Jocko, I figured you were maybe drunk on all that Glock 43 kool-aid! LOL
Are you sure you didn't see a CT380? Which would be exactly what you said above "a big 380"?

Thanks so much for getting the parts out so fast! The check should pass it in transit:D

I wish the back of the slide on Kahrs was like that Ruger. The points on the Kahr slide bother me when I pocket carry.

That's what has always bothered me as well. The LCP seems to be the most reliable pocket .380 out there, yet the one I tried was rough to shoot and the top of the trigger pinched my finger badly during reset. So instead I got the P380, which feels fine and has good recoil characteristics but behaves like a woman with PMS sometimes.

Just as you mentioned; my LCP has been 100% over 300+rounds but it's awful/stings to shoot. My CW380 has been a work in progress as far as reliability; but is the softest shooting/most accurate .380 I have shot to date.

I owned both at the same time. Pictures are great but for me the LCP "carries" smaller than the Kahr. Maybe it's the round edges and the fact that it's several ounces lighter but it is noticeably easier to carry in a pocket.

My itty bitty pocket guns started out with a Kel-Tec P32, went to a Kel-Tec P3AT, then to a Ruger LCP. They are now all gone and I'm left with a Kahr CW 380. The Kahr, IMHO, is a more shootable gun and a lot better looking and seems to be better built. To be fair, I never had issues with the other guns, I just like the Kahr better. I just about forgot about the Colt Mustang. It was well built but a single action, cocked and locked pocket gun is not for me.

I know im getting off topic here, but i also hate the way the Kahrs deform hollowpoints.
I like the gold dots and HSTs, but I dont feel comfortable carrying them in my kahrs (9mm and 380) because the feed ramp smashes the edge of the bullet in towards the cavity... I dont know whether this will matter or not, but I dont think it can help reliable expansion.
So I carry Hornady critical duty/defense, its still a great round, not my first choice, but feel more comfortable that there is less of a cavity to deform, for from what I can see they really dont deform when hitting the ramp.
I guess you have to be content with the trade off, for the size, as IMO nothing ive shot so far has been as nice as the kahrs for the size (PM9, CW380)

That might be something the factory can address. Mine don't do it. I checked carefully because I used to have an LCP that did that and the Ruger factory couldn't fix it. It dinged everything including FMJ and Hornady CD, so I bought my first Kahr specifically to avoid that.

I agree - the Kahr corners should be rounded off a bit more like the LCP.

That could explain the size of your groups, Jocko. They only look bigger than everyone else's groups. :D
