Proposed Gun Law Involves Bribery – Will Gun Owners Fall For It?111 Comments (http://2ndamendmentinsider.com/proposed-law-would-bribe-gun-owners-to-surrender-their-weapons/)
http://2ndamendmentinsider.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/DeLauro-800x280.jpgA Democratic congresswoman from Connecticut, Representative Rosa DeLauro, is set to introduce a bill designed to persuade owners of “assault weapons” to turn in their guns. Under the terms of the bill, citizens who surrender their guns to the federal government would receive a tax credit of up to $2,000.
The bill is called the “Support Assault Firearm Elimination and Education (SAFER) of our Streets Act. It was first introduced in January 2013, after the tragic school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. At that time, it failed to attract sufficient support.
In a press release on Rep. DeLauro’s website, she writes:

Assault weapons are not about hunting, or even self-defense. There is no reason on Earth, other than to kill as many people as possible in as short a time as possible, that anyone needs a gun designed for a battlefield. They have no place on the streets or in our homes.
IJReview reports:

The press release goes on to explain that DeLauro’s in favor of a “comprehensive ban on assault weapons,” banning large “ammunition feeding devices,” as well as closing the “gun show loophole.”
The bill includes a wide range of rifles, pistols, and shotguns, and any of the former that have a folding or telescoping stock, a threaded barrel, a pistol grip, a forward grip, a barrel shroud, magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, shotguns with revolving cylinders, conversion kits, or any:
“…semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General.”
DeLauro reminded her supporters that just a short time after the Newtown shooting, President Obama had asked whether Americans are doing enough to protect our children, and he concluded the answer was “no.” DeLauro said that must change.
Six of Rep. DeLauro’s collegues are co-sponsoring the bill. They are all Democrats: Representatives Betty McCollum (D-MN), Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ), Elijah Cummings (D-MD), Keith Ellison (D-MN), Eric Swalwell (D-CA), and David Cicilline (D-RI).
Although the congresswoman does support a complete ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition, she has promised her bill would not force gun owners to surrender their weapons.

To Rep. DeLauro’s I say **** YOU!

IMO, just the first of a series of lies to disarm gun owners. We pay taxes to the Federal government who will in turn give you up to $2000 in the form of a tax credit for turning in your gun? So they are using YOUR money to take away your assault weapon. This bill is being co-sponsored by politicians all with a (D) after their names. Does this sound faintly familiar? No thanks Representative DeLauro, don't you and all your co-sponsors have anything more important to do?

Why is it that all gun grabber politicians especially violet gun grabber politicians are also ugly?

Maybe if they wasn't so darn ugly they'd have other stuff to occupy their incredibly small brains.

Evidently DeLauro is unaware that the DHS considers AR15s and M16s as "personal defense weapons".

Has anybody forgotten that characterization from the official DHS solicitation of 7,000 firearms in 2012?

Read the actual words here by following the pdf links to the government's official procurement documents:

IMO, you have to realize that politicians with a (D) following their names play by a different set of rules. Rules don't mean a thing to them. The important thing is that they WIN for themselves and their party. Thus, the fact that DHS classifies AR15s and M16s as "personal defense weapons" doesn't deter Representative DeLauro in the least from pushing her bill.

Better edit that to go in with the lights off otherwise that image will be burned into your brain and no amount of alcohol will be able to remove it.

If they'd do their homework, they'd find out very little crime is committed with any rifle. It just so happens that some big news stories did. So they think that banning semi-auto rifles and rifles with scary looking cosmetic features is going to reduce crime. Yeah Right. They are either playing into the hands of, or being employed by the One World Govt. folks.

As far as I'm concerned we should be able to buy any rifle the military or police can, full-auto, and all. As long as you are legal to own firearms.
