Old retired gun nut from the middle of Illinois who finally got around to Kahr. I picked up a new CM9 today and intend to break it in tomorrow. I've read a lot about Kahr's and was really interested in everything I've read about their trigger. In dry firing it seems not quite as smooth as Sig's DAK trigger but pretty darn decent for an unfired pistol and with a shorter travel than the Sig. I'm comparing an unfired Kahr to a DAK with a couple thousand rounds through it so I'm betting the Kahr will smooth out considerably and certainly be nothing to sneeze at....
My daily carry in the winter is a Sig 224 DAK in .40 or a Colt Defender .45. In the summer it is a Sig P938 AG. If I like this Kahr as much as I hope I will then I could easily see an Mk in .40 as my year 'round carry piece.... (I'm a fan of all steel and I hate any pistol with that annoying little lever in the middle of the trigger (even though I have a Glock 23 and sometimes actually shoot it).... :D
I believe everyone should own one firearm for every year they have been on Earth. I think I'm covered up into my mid 80's....

(1) shoot a bit of lube inside the frame where the trigger bar and retaining spring ride. Then shoot it to break it in. That trigger will get sweeter and sweeter. I have a couple of older Kahrs with amazing triggers.
(2) just some really good thinkin' right there!
Welcome.

Welcome to the forum!
I think what you wrote comparing the Sig's Dak to Kahr's trigger says something very positive for your new CM9.

Yes. I'm very much looking forward to going to the range -- unfortunately I shattered a molar this morning and wimped out on the range trip so Monday I get to see my dentist... Darn it....

One gun for every year alive... You're gonna get along just fine around here!
also from central Illinois. Peoria area. ended up with a cw380 and a few weeks later a cm9. 380 shoots great. Havn't fired the 9 yet.

I've heard of biting the bullet, but I think that you may have taken it to the extreme. :)
