He's just like obammy and should be fired!

If This Police Chief Has His Way, No One In His City Will Be Able to Own a Gun (http://therighttobear.com/if-this-police-chief-has-his-way-no-one-in-his-city-will-be-able-to-own-a-gun/)

http://therighttobear.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Screen-Shot-2015-04-14-at-9.47.08-AM-300x168.pngThe one thing every single law abiding gun owner should know is it’s their responsibility to secure their firearms. You learn that in any class on gun safety you take, and it’s a no-brainer.
It’s not the job of the police, nor is it the job of the state.
It is the gun owner’s job, period.
If people treated weapons with the respect they deserve then stories like the one you’re about to read wouldn’t happen.
But because people act carelessly, children die, and when children die because people act carelessly, the only thing the police and lawmakers can think about doing is banning guns outright.
Calvin Williams serves as police chief of Cleveland, Ohio. He’s pushing for gun control after a 3-year-old boy picked up an unattended handgun and shot a 1-year-old boy in the face, killing him.
While the story is tragic, it isn’t a cause for a gun ban.
NBC News writes (http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/1-year-old-fatally-shot-another-child-n340351):

A 3-year-old boy is believed to have fired the shot that killed a 1-year-old Sunday in Cleveland with an “unattended firearm,” prompting the city’s police chief to admonish the public’s “fascination” with handguns.
“It’s a sad day for Cleveland,” said Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams during a news conference Sunday afternoon. Williams told NBC affiliate WKYC that investigators believe a 3-year-old fired the shot that killed the 1-year-old at a home in the city’s east side. The victim, identified as Braylon Robinson, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“Currently we’re investigating where this firearm came from. We’re also investigating how this tragedy actually happened,” Williams told reporters outside of the home Sunday afternoon. “But everybody has to know that this fascination we have with handguns, not just in this city but in this country, has to stop.”
“This is a senseless loss of life in this city again, and it’s directly related to guns, and we need to really take a hard look at the things that we’re doing out there on the state, local and the national level to get these guns out of our communities,” Williams added. “Nothing good ever happens.”
The person or people responsible for leaving the gun unsecured will likely be charged, WKYC reported.
Williams is wrong.
Guns are used for good every single day.
Do you think he would argue his department owning guns isn’t good? Imagine the challenge his police department would have if they weren’t able to produce a firearm during a crime. It would make their job far more difficult, if not impossible.
Not to mention the hundreds of times daily where Americans use guns for self-defense.
What happened here is a tragedy, and the owner of the gun should face criminal charges for his neglect.
When people are held responsible for what they do and don’t do, then the conversation on guns might head in a more meaningful direction.
Until then we’re going to have people like Williams calling for gun bans.

Every time Cleveland passes a new gun control bill it's challenged in the courts and the city government loses. It's all done for show.
