I was looking for a decent flashlight, without having to spend a fortune..............................came across this. Gander Mountain Tactical flashlight. Metal, waterproof, lightweight, with a lanyard. Says the LED's last forever. 7 functions....... 235 lumen light, 160 lumen light, 235 lumen strobe, red light, green light, blue light, red flashing sos. $19.94 Uses 2 expensive lithium batteries, but it's a nice light for the money. I was surprised at how bright it actually is. I believe it comes in red, orange, blue, green, purple.....................my local Gander only had orange and purple. If your looking for a nice, inexpensive light, check them out.

that matches the color of my Herretts grips that the Bawanna refinished for me some time back for my model 60. I mean what pimp would not want a set of grps that color on his 100% engraved model 60 and then pull out this lite. If that don't make cops profile u, nuttin will. Just sayin

MidwayUSA has the ProTac 2L for sale at about half of list. Good light, I just ordered a second one at that price.

I just ordered two 300 lumen flashlights for 12.95 each with free shipping. It has 3 settings: full power, half power, and strobe. It has the power button on the bottom end. It runs on one AA battery. They also have a 1000 lumen light on sale that displays during the checkout process for $50 (I think...might be $70, normally its $100) while they try to sell you more stuff. They also threw in a couple of survival type .PDF files to download. And I think one of those knives that fit in a credit card.

Urban legend. No evidence to back up this claim.
I did save a nice set of grips for him but I'm pretty sure they were pink.
I keep checking the mail box every day for that fully engraved model 60 but so far it ain't showed up. Said he was sending it as an industrial hole punch.

I don't think he's really sending it. Jocko speak with forked tongue.

If I leave batteries in stored flashlights, they die. If I leave batteries out, there's no batteries in them. Are "tactical" flashlights any better as far as not draining the batteries?

They seem to drain them a lot less than Maglights......................................... ..

I agree. The new lights that run the 123 batteries seem to live much longer. I remember the mag lights and we still issue them to officers are always quiting and corroding inside making a huge useless mess.

No issues with the new stuff and the LED lamps last basically forever. I'd like to update mine but the new LED bulbs are near as much as a new flashlight.

Shop for the 123 batteries on line, I cringe when I see them in the store for 3 or 4 bucks a copy.

I've been buying bulk for the department getting 200 at a time and they are between 80 and 90 cents. I can live with that much nicer.

That's a good price for a flashlight...............I need the colors on a flashlight, the red mainly.......................It really helps at night, when your using a telescope, or when in the woods, and trying to find your way, but yet be stealthy about it.

I've been using Romisen and Ultra Fire brands (Chinese) with really good luck. They are around $15 and I use a rechargeable 18650 rechargeable batteries. Aluminum housing with Cree or equivalent controllers. Very durable, very bright. The "O" rings aren't the greatest but are replaceable. One charge lasts me a full year of light to moderate use. I have many so the duty is dispersed. I keep at least one in every room and two near the backdoor.
