PM45 ejects into my face

Anyone else have a PM 45 with the problem ? I’ve tried every bullet weight and brand I can find but 50% of ejected shells come straight backwards

This is a common complaint.

Here's what I've found - shooting the hottest ammo you can find will help. And, as you shoot the gun more, and that #$@# tight recoil spring loosens up some, the problem will go away. It has on the new one I got, and the used one I got never did it at all, but it was all nice and broken in when I got it.

In the mean time, you need good glasses, or perhaps a Number-Two size fencing mask.

CJB is right, it should get better. In the mean time ,Glasses and keept your shirt collar closed. I got a caseing down my shirt while breaking mine in, lol not fun.

A cap with the bill forward and low as possible helps, too.

My first outing with my PM45... March 2010... left my forehead covered with black marks... which I didn't notice until I got home and looked in the mirror... AFTER stopping at Walmart and shopping for half an hour! :blushing: After that experience, I always wear a cap with the bill down as low as possible... along with ballistic eye protection!

The love taps were from the original slide on my new PM45. Somewhere along the way, it stopped throwing the shells at my face, but I think it was after the FIRST trip back to Kahr... first of 5... only original part is the slide release, I think... and sure about that! They sent me two new slide releases and I returned them because they weren't DLC. I originally named my PM45 Boomer, but that became FrankenBoomer. I kinda' wish that I had a list of all of the parts and things done to it. I works fine now, but I generally carry my Mag-Na-Ported P40. Maybe one of these days, I'll be able to get the P45 DLC that I would like... and maybe even the Trijicon HD NS... IF they ever make them for the Kahrs. I would like to be able to use flush-fitting 1911 mags with more capacity.
