The couple times I've had my CM40 to the range, it shot low. I thought it was me, but I've been using my laser ammo, and it's not me. What can I do about this? Is there a rear site with elevation I could use? What else can I do to fix this? At 15 ft, it shoots about 3" low. I'm getting to where I naturally compensate, and I'm doing quite well, but I would rather the gun shoot right.

Did it always shoot low? if not then what changes did you make?

It always shot low. I bought it new about 6 months ago, I have done nothing to it. I've only had it to the range twice. I thought I was just a poor shot, but it ain't me!

I noticed that my MK9 also seems to shoot a bit low. I just compensate......................I have the standard dot the I sights, and I just leave space between the two, when I dot the I. Brings the shots up. It's not exact science, but it works. I think it's a combination of the trigger, the length of the firearm, and the grip that makes them want to shoot a tad low.

That's what I've been doing. I've shot so much with this laser it's becoming natural. I'll get to the range in a couple weeks and see how I do with live ammo. If your MK does it, then I don't feel so bad.

I have to line up the sights on my CM9 to point of impact.

If I line up "Lollipop" I shoot low. Also, bullet weights can make me shoot high or low.

To me, THAT is the correct way to aim a gun. If I do that with my CM, I shoot low.

I added a Pachmayr rubber grip. It helped make my groups tighter and more consistent. I found I was having issues with the width (used to fatter) and slip. I still have to aim a bit higher than I'm used to with other pistolas but it is much improved.

If I use this sight pic, and raise the front sight to cover the bulls eye, I am at POA............

My new CW40 is my first Kahr and my first pistol with the bar under the dot sights. It's taking some time to understand where/how the sights line up as I'm used to the 3 dot system. Perhaps what you are experiencing is the same thing? Trying to learn where to put the sights? As soon as I'm able I'll post some pics on the forum but I'm still too "green" yet, maybe in a couple more posts I'll be able too cause a pic is worth more than words but I'll try to describe where I'm putting my sights.... I'm putting the front dot just above the rear bar making sure the top of the front sight is in line with the rear although I think some shooters put the dot right over where they want impact to be, I place my dot just a hair under where I want it to hit.. Probably not right, I dont know, maybe someone else can chime in as far as where to line up the sights... I think your gun is fine honestly, I think its just new gun learning curve stuff more than anything... However during my break in session at the range I did put 5 rounds each at 3 yards, 7 yards 10 yards and then 5 more at 15 yards on a NRA B-16 target and all shots were in the black. I'm talking about real slow, take your time, put the gun down, wipe my sweating hands, get back, slow aim, try it again type aimming... lol

BTW, my CW40 ran 150 rounds flawlessly and I'm really digging this pistol a lot, AND, my extra 6rnd factory mag I ordered from cabela's just came in this afternoon! :o

I can appreciate what you're saying, But, this is not the case. Right now I'm practicing with laser ammo. I am confident it is centered and lined straight down the barrel, a bore sight. I have no recoil to deal with. If I split the front dot with the top rear sight, and place the dot where I want it, I hit the point. But that puts my front sight over my rear sight by quite a bit.

This is the sight picture I use to stay on target. A lollypop sight picture shoots low. There are lots of threads on here about sight pictures.

And I shoot low. Split that front dot with the top of the rear sight, and then put it on target, works.

Get two Dr Scholls insoles. Cut off the heel part, use the test onder the ball and forward part of your feet. That ahould fix it at fifteen feet. Of course you will shoot high at 25, 35, 50 feet.....

I have a 1/2' heal lift in my right shoe to make it even with my left leg, maybe that's it!:p
