I posted yesterday a thread that I had picked up a new CM9.

I had noticed a bump on the slide rail right hand side just below the ejection port. I found it by first seeing a drag mark on the right side of the barrel's chamber section. I have consdered stoning the bump down, BUT this is not just a bump, but a change in dimension, (or a step up toward the rear of the slide). To the front of the slide the rail is shorter (shorter from the axis of the bore line), once the step is reached, the rail is taller from the left, or from the bore line.

I don't want to alter this since it could be by design. Secondly it could be a non-issue. Running your finger along the rail on the right side of the slide under the ejection port will indicate this change in dimension.
Just wondering if the CM9's are all like this or if this is a unique characteistic of my particular gun? I don't want to mess with something if not necessary, I can live with the drag mark on the right side of barrel.

Does your slide have this?

There are no lumps or bumps on the slide of my CM9. If the gun functions properly I wouldn't worry about it. If it bothers you try stoning it with a hard Arkansas stone or contact Kahr service and let them remove it.

TY for checking your gun and posting, going to the range now and I will report back.

I have stones for smithing so I will see how this goes.

See post #5 here: http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?26927-Have-new-CM9-a-simple-question&p=342239#post342239

Pistol worked perfectly without alteration. Just cleaned, lubed, and fired today with no problems, 111 rounds.

That's a good run, Sparx. I'm sure that the lump is no cause for concern, but stoning the slide smooth shouldn't hurt anything. You sound like a man who knows what he's doing, but then Jocko had me fooled, too. :)

Sometimes I know what I am doing!

I have done trigger work on 1911's, 10-22's, and I bulld up M1 Garands, work on high standard 22s some also.

I find it better to move slowly on things like this, rather than having to send the gun in for a replacement slide, would be an embarrassing situation.
I am going to fire 100 or more rounds before I take it down and clean it, then I can inspect that little bump and decide.

I just checked my CM9. It doesn't have that "Hump."

thanks to you also deadeye.
Put 100 more rounds through the gun today, no problems. Total round count to: 211
Clean it now and fire again tomorrow.

Glad it is zero stoppages so far.
