no,no,no, you can't have no gun in Chgo. get on I-55 and head on down to STL, we have serious baseball and concealed carry and open carry, plenty of shooting going on. oh, we have beer and bbq too. (although I do like the ribs at Leon's on Archer). anyway why are you getting a CM9 instead of something glocky?

No, no, no...Once you get south of I-80, it's all cows and farm stuff....We have beer, bbq, baseball and concealed carry up here...No need to cross the border into cow country....:p
Bob

Bob,
here I am in STL and it's getting hot. I could go to Michigan upper peninsula, but I would have to read up and comply with stupid Il. and Wi. gun laws. I think this summer I'm heading west to the Colorado mountains. that's pretty straightforward as Ks. and Co. welcome gun toters from Mo.
looking at the success of Il. gun laws, especially in Chgo. is there any chance for change? is anybody working on that?

To be fair, I am not sure what you are asking....Since the Supreme Court struck down Chicago's handgun ban and we got CCW on the books, I am not sure what stupid laws we have left.
Yes, there is a waiting period, and we do need a FOID card to buy ammo or guns, but it is a very minor inconvenience. It is way easier to buy a gun here, then it was in North Carolina, when I lived there. There is no hi-cap mag ban or assault weapon ban where I live...Sure, I can't go out in my yard and shoot targets, but I live in the suburbs....I have 3-4 indoor ranges within 30-60 minutes and a couple of outdoor clubs....

I'm maybe 2 miles west of the border on I-270. for some shopping and good restaurants going to Granite City would be on my list if Il. and Mo. had reciprocity on CCW permits. our attorney general has tried to make a deal several times and no luck. Il. would want me to get an Il. CCW permit(classes, permit costs). personally, I found it offensive to be required to get a permit in my own state.

No stupid laws up here except for the 2 day waiting period. No mag restrictions, open carry has always been legal, and people love guns up here. They're working on getting rid of that waiting period as we speak, if the Gov. hasn't signed it already. He's kind of busy lately:)Haven't been keeping up with it. Every deer season 750,00 hunters in the woods...................................
