Am I missing a piece from the end of the spring guide rod? I checked the drawings in the manual but I cannot make a determination.

Yes, you lost the retaining nut, it is round like a washer. Same thing happened to me. Call Kahr and explain, they will send you a new recoil assembly. It's supposed to be loctited on, but this a part that Kahr sources out and on occasion one slips through without the locktite. The gun will still run by the way.

yup just send that photo to kahr attn> Jay and u willg et a new one pronto. tell them what mode the gun is. Save the old one for parts if needed. the little ut is supposed to be locktited on but evidentlyt urs was not. U can buy the GREEN locktite that allu do is squirt it on the nut and it will penetrate right on the assembly AND NEVER COME OFF--Ever
My reply might to you perverts like Muggy sound sexual, Last time I swquirted sumpin on myt nut,NUTTIN HAPPENED. Justs sayin

TY for the replies.
I did some Goggling, and found the thread that shows one being made from a 6/32" nut. I figured those threads were there for a purpose.
Being an x electrical contractor 6/32" hardware is in the shop. I took a 6/32" nut, put in on a 6/32" screw, notched the threads of the screw on both sides of the nut to prevent turning, chucked it up in the battery drill and with the bench disc sander running cut the nut down through sanding. Then I ran up the abrasive Dremel Tool with cylindrical polisher chucked up, and ran the now rounded nut in the battery drill and polished the edge up. Finally I polished up the face on each side by hand with 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper setting on a steel block.
I red loctite fastened the disc to my pistol.
I am having issues with Kahr Customer service right now (http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?26998-CM9-has-been-perfect-Would-getting-a-PM9-be-foolish-UPDATE***Got-a-PM45-BIG-MISTAKE/page2) (see post #11) , but just for fun I will call Monday. There was a tiny bit of whitish compound on the thread at the shaft end, obviously did not hold too well.
I am not sure if the nut is stainless or not, but I really am not worried about it.
Again TY for the replies.

Thanks b4uqzme.
It all boils down to having tools, of course a lathe would help but don't have one.
If you put the nut on a screw and rotate the assembly in a drill as well as cutting it with a moving abrasive it comes out better, in my case a 5" disc sander it keeps things very round. Also a taper can be cut too.
Eons ago my Dad and I were in some store back in the old neighborhood in Chicago and there was little chess set heavily discounted because one Rook was missing. It was encased in a little plastic box sort of thing and the chess pieces had pegs on the bottom and fit into holes on the board. (My Dad used to play a lot of chess over the radio when he was stationed in Iceland just before the War with guys all over the place). So Dad bought it saying, "I'll make a new piece". So we took it home, went down the basement, and he took a small piece of wood, may have been a dowel I don't recall, he chucked it up in a 3/8" drill 120 volt, no battery drills then, and shaped out the Rook with a chisel and his pocket knife. Worked great, we painted it, no clue if the black or white Rook and we had a completed set. He grew up during the depression and had nothing, so you learned how to make things work. When I was a kid, we had more, but well... you had to earn it. Anyway, I learned a trick back then- good times at least 55 years ago.

Note, this was not my idea, I found a thread here on this Forum from a while back. I just used a little different method.

^^^ ya gotta love dads Sparks. I bought my first house when I was in my twenties. I was complaining to dad how I was having trouble getting a plumber out for some repairs but I got no sympathy. "Why don't you fix it yourself?" He always was right darn it. :D
Thanks for the machining lesson.
P.S. I believe credit goes to Wynntrout for posting the nut repair thread.

I was probably the first guy to do that, but Kahr sent me a new recoil spring assembly and the one I "fixed" is still a spare. You did good, but I would still get a new RSA from Kahr.

Yeah, I will give Kahr a call Monday, hopefully they would give me a hard time about this, as they have with my PM45 issue.

Fired 75 rounds today with new recoil assembly, no issues. Still never a failure to function with the gun, approaching 1000 rounds fired.
