While dry firing a CW380 with an empty mag in, slowly pulling the trigger, my slide/barrel "upper" moves back and forward approx. 1/16 of an inch. Is that normal? I've watched a few videos on youtube on the cw380 and didn't notice that much movement.

My T9 has quite a bit of slide movement when dry firing with or without an empty mag inserted. when I load one with snap caps and put one in the chamber there is almost zero movement. my CW9 has a smaller amount of slide play, but it's still there.

Hmmm sure others will chime in, but if the weapon is in battery and slowly pulling the trigger causes the slide to come back I guess weak recoil springs? As you pull the trigger, you are further cocking the striker but I think you are pulling against the recoil springs . My two cents. Doesn't do it on my P380.

I had already ordered some new recoil springs. Changed them both and now, no movement at all while pulling the trigger. I only have about a 1000 rounds through it. Didn't know they needed replacing that often. The new inner spring was about an inch longer than the old inner one. I have a couple of Glocks, was told to change those out about every 5000 rounds or so. Guess the Kahr's will need changing more often. Thanks

They shouldn't need changing that often. I drawing a blank trying to remember what Kahr recommends but it's a bunch more than 1000.

I'm thinking 3500 - 5000. Personally I'm of the belief that when it needs a recoil spring it will let me know.

I don't just change them as a routine maintenance thing.

Actually except for messing with 1911's to get the proper weight I only recall replacing one my whole life and that was on a HI Power and boy did it need it. Didn't cure my jamomatic issues but its night and day trying to rack that slide.

1000-1200 seems about right to me. I didn't replace the recoil springs the first time in my P380 until it started to mess up around 1500 rounds. Now I keep a spare set ready.
