Installed some new factory boot grips on my Mini .22 Magnum - now it is a lot easier to handle than with the original birdshead ones:

I've spent a boatload of money on expensive wood grips for my revolvers.
They look sweet for pictures.
But with live fire?
I always return to rubber, oh well...

ArmyBrat, where did you get those grips? I've got a little Freedom Arms .22lr that could use a set!

Got my .22 magnum grip panels directly from North American - regular price was $35, now on sale for $28. By "coincidence" the 1st class USPS shipping came to $7, so it came to $35 anyway. lol
Here's the link to the .22lr grips - same price:

Had to do a little hand filing with one of those lady's fingernail files to get the left panel to fit in the grip frame on mine. I guess it'll fit your Freedom Mini, or come close. Wasn't Freedom Arms bought out by North American many years ago?

those look good, and no doubt help the one finger grip issue. I've never owned the NAA mini, but have wanted it (or it's predecessor) for about 50 years. I shoulda bought one 15 years ago when they were in the $100-125 range. Now, around here, the basic 22lr model is over $250 when you can find them.

IIRC - paid $89 for mine about 30 years ago. It came with a little leather IWB holster with a steel clip and a little bitty gun rug.
Used to pocket carry it with four loaded chambers & one empty. Didn't trust the "safety notch" between the chambers.
Bought a set of those grips for my carry NAA mag mini a good number of years back. Nice, well done grips but don't/didn't work for me. If any of the regulars here want them, pm me.

Oh, I'm not going to carry my Mini - just thought they'd look nice on it and make it easier to shoot (not that I've done that for maybe 20 years). lol

well, without the gun, what would I put the free grips on .... my Super Red Hawk? :D
That is a very generous offer for someone "in need" that you're making.

A little trimmin' and I'd think they'd be fittin' just fine. :)
I spec'd regulars fer a reason. And the Col gets first shot...I owe him. T'wer not for him I'd no longer be able ta be CB shorts shootin' rats in my basement.

Mighty kind offer Itxi, appreciate it but I parted with my little mini. Couldn't grasp trying to catch the thing after every shot.
I swapped it for a Derringer which I never got a chance to shoot but didn't fall in love with, swapped it for part of a Smith 638 for the wife.

B, which part of the Smith did you swap for .... and any chance you'll ever get the rest of it?

NAA did buy out Freedom Arms and used their plans, drawings, tooling to continue on the mini-22s, from my understanding, so hopefully the grips will work out just fine.
I can't even imagine shooting one of these little itty-bitty .22s in magnum. I never would have thought I'd say a .22lr has recoil but this thing is worse than shooting my Ruger .41 mag! At least I can keep the .41 in my hands on every shot. I really have to pay attention to holding onto the FA so it doesn't fly out of my hands, or rather finger. And you can forget about accuracy. 5 very carefully aimed shots at a beer can at 10 feet and I can hit the can one time.
However, 6 inches to a foot and I can hit a torso every time without even aiming!

Thought that might be the case for Freedom Arms. My NAA Mini was made in Spanish Fork, Utah.
Shootin' the magnum is more noise than the recoil for me, and I can't hit anything beyond 6 feet with it. I'm probably flinching & jerking that tiny trigger like a scared little girl
Oddly, I'm pretty good/"accurate" with the mini mag at in your face to a few yards range. Been a good carry when nothin' else will do and back-up for for me. Speer .22 mag short barrel gold dots in the 1 5/8 barrel. I also have the shorter 1 1/8 version but most all ammo keyholes out of that one.
Okay, old hosses still get first dibs for one more day. After that grips go the junior guy who PM'd me with a request.

Armybrat - I get these a few years ago and love them. I do carry my mini 22 especially when it's all I can hide / handle. The cowboy grips, as I call them, do make handling easier. Enjoy them.
