In looking through older posts, I've seen where some posters said they were going to get rid of their problem 380's. Those of you who either sold their guns, or gave them away perhaps to unappreciated in-laws, have you heard anything from the new owners?

meant to say CW380's and P380's. Not all 380's going back to Grandfather Walther

I traded mine at my LGS so I have no idea where it ended up. The gunsmith at the LGS inspected it and told me he thought the recoil springs were bad because there was so much play in the slide. I didn't get much in trade in because of the problems.

My daughter had a Taurus 380 that wouldn't cycle. I sent it off to Taurus, they serviced it and sent it back. Never tested it after that, and just sold it to a gun store immediately, exactly as received. Explained everything to the dealer and included copies of the correspondence with Taurus.

Probably could have got more selling to a private party, but I just didn't trust the gun and didn't want to.

Good point. I've been very fortunate in buying used guns with no defects showing. When a defect is not obvious you have to rely on the honesty of the seller. I've sold some too and never had any defects other than obvious holster wear. But, I will say I sold a brand new Kel Tec P-32, which was a replacement from Davidson. The previous one had a hammer spring that just broke from normal use. I sold the new one the day after I got it and disclosed to the buyer the reason I was selling it was I just didn't trust it any more. Not trying to knock Kel Tec, but trust in a gun is a personal thing. Some don't trust Kahrs.

Just got rid of a Bersa Thunder .380. My M&P bodyguard .380 is a much better quality weapon than this thing.

Traded in a diamondback db380 to get my CW380,it was having some issues and I didn't feel like paying the shipping to send it back to Florida for warranty work by Taurus, dick move but no remorse here.

I "got rid of" a P380... my second one... because Wifey couldn't rack it. One was enough for me.

My first 380 was a Diamondback DB380. It was a jam-o-matic POS from day one. One trip back to the manufacturer and it was still the worst pistol I've owned. Gave it to a friend and I don't know what happened to it after that.

Next up was a LCP that has been dead reliable; but is on the for sale block as it is awful to shoot.

My current 380 is a CW380. It has been back to Kahr twice for FTF/light primer strike issues. It's been much more reliable since; but I still get a FTF or light primer strike about once every 50-75 rounds. I carry it in the summer; but I will stupidly admit that in the back of my mind I don't fully trust it 100%.

Well Wynn, I for one am glad she couldn't rack my fabulous P380. This is a great pistol. Eats everything I serve it and I've never had one failure. Thanks for breaking it in so well!

Had an early AMT .380 Backup and a 1st Gen Keltec P3AT - both didn't run worth a hoot, so they got traded for a new CW45. I had a total of $325 invested in those two lemons. The CW45 is a peach.

I had the Taurus pt 738.......never got a full mag through it without a fail to feed, fail to extract, or fail to fire.
I tried every available ammo in it- no difference. I painstakingly finally got 74 rounds through. I sent it back to factory 3 times. After 3rd trip- when it came back....I loaded up 2 mags- they went through without issue- I ASSUMED it was FIXED- and traded that day for a Bersa T380. It is one of the best shooters I have ever had- now have 4.

The only .380 that has ever been a problem was a Kahr. Sold it, got a Ruger never looked back. For what it's worth my PM9 and CW45 have been flawless.
