This is my 1st Kahr, i am a Sig fan and owner. If Sig has made it i own it. You can say whatever you want about me! I like nice quality items.

However, i bought the CM9 for my wife to carry. I don't want her carrying a single action so i was looking for a DAO with a longer trigger. I currently have Shield 40, Sig P224, P938, P238, XDS, Mod 2 and a few other carry guns. The shield's grip was a little long for her so it imprinted when she carried it. So i did some reviews on the CM9 and decided to purchase one. Picked it up and put Talon grips on it. I got off work early today and went to the range.

So the first shot went bang but FTE! I thought to myself i guess that i could have gotten a bad batch. (Yes i know its was the 1st round, but you only get one shot for 1st impressions). Cleared it and keep on shooting. 300 rounds later went through the break in and some. Let me tell you I don't know the longevity of Kahr's but i think that i might have to tell my wife that this gun is terrible and keep it for myself! As of right now, all of my other carry guns will remain in the safe and i have moved to the CM9 as my EDC.

The trigger is amazing, the bar sights was easier than i thought they would to acquire the target (better than traditional sights), minimum recoil, and doing double taps @ 10 yards. My grouping was in the 5 ring. Matter of fact 299 rounds were in the 5 ring. Yes that means that i through one. So i said to myself "don't worry about that little guy"!

If you are on the fence about buying one, get it. this gun is amazing so far. The only issue that i have is reassembling it after the cleaning. it was a pain. i could not get the slide to rack back for me to put in the pin. I will post something around 1000-1500 rounds.

UPDATE 2.0
Back to the range today and took the wife. She shot the cm9 like it was meant for her. She loved the trigger, size, weight but had to adjust to the bar sights. 250 today with zero malfunctions. Yeppie! So that is way beyond the bean in period now time for JHP. Which ones have worked and which ones have no. Thanks you in advance

There are 3-dot sight options if the bar dot sights don't work out. After much trying, 5 years worth, I finally changed mine after buying other Kahrs with night sights and seeing how much better my groups were.

I can't think of a hollow point that won't shoot in my PM9. I often shoot Golden Sabers, but have bought hornandy, winchester, and some federal HPs as well. They all worked.

Congrats! My Cm9 has been flawless from shot one. Looks like another CM9 in your future!

They'll pretty much all work, is why my experience says. There is ONE thing you gotta watch for though. Some heavy 9mm HP's have a rather long ogive, and those "can" hit the nose of the slide stop where it would be lifted by the magazine follower. They don't all do it, and there is some little bit of variation in slide stops... you know the drill... ya never know till ya try (or at least have a good examination of things). Thats the only problem with HP's that I've encountered in two PM9's that I've had the pleasure of owning. Trying to remember... could have been 124g Golden Saber ammo (Rem.), but I can't say for sure.

I carry 147gr golden sabers, and 124gr XTP's, no problems with either round.

I too have a new CM9 and really enjoying it so far. I have many SIGs also and first tried bar dot sights on them and a beretta 92F. I've enjoyed those style sights for many years since those early experiences. As I love the wonderful quality of Sig also, it shows a lot of good for the CM9 which will most likely replace my 938. I didn't truly think that would happen.

My only gripe was the very sharp edges on the front of the slide and in the forward portion of the ejection port. Some stoning knocked off the edges, I wondered if yours was similar. Not just slightly sharp. More like a new Kershaw sharp.

My CW380 was completely well smoothed on all corners.

It use to be 115grn for all my 9mm pistols but more and more with the micro 9mm pistols, the 147grn really aids cycling and tends to be quite accurate out of them. The cm9 with 147grn feels much smoother than my sig 938. Less snappy.

While Gold Dots may work just fine in your gun, they are longer than same-weight Fed HST's. With Kahrs sometimes having bullet-slide stop contact issues, I go with HSTs just to be safe. I don't like Critical Defense ammo but that'd be even safer from a bullet-profile-reliability standpoint.

I use Hornady critical defense in my C/M 9. Never had a problem. Actually never had a problem with any ammo. The C/M 9 is one of the most reliable carry gun's I have.

My CM9 feeds HST 124 and 147gn all dat.

147gn has become scarce so I carry 124gr now.

Shoots point of aim out to 25m, got to love these little guns!
