Hey everyone, just joined and really hoping to get everyone's opinion and experiences regarding the Kahr P9. This gun really appeals to me for it's dimensions and weight (good for summer carry) Kahr quality, love the looks of the stainless and the caliber/capacity.
The PM9 would be a little too small for me, I think. Is the P9 fun to shoot at the range? Reliable? Accurate? Any problems? Tips?
I'm a Glock guy coming over to Kahr! Any and all replies would be greatly appreciated.

I have a PM9 and love it, have you looked at the CW9 it is a couple of hundred cheaper and the same size. I am also looking at a CW9 or P9 maybe even the same models in 45 ACP.

I have had Glock 23 for 8 years or so, it too is a great pistol, I do like the trigger on the Kahr better for safety reasons. Both the Kahr PM9 and the Glock 23 fit me alright, I like the PM9 for carry even in the pocket.

Hey Roger, welcome to the forum. I carry a P9 in a Crossbreed holster all the time. It is my main carry except for the P380 when I wear shorts. The gun is very accurate. Be sure to break it in.

Thanks, it's a priviledge to be here and I'm learning quite alot from all the previous threads. Good point about the CW9, but being a Glock guy, I guess I like the polygonal rifling of the P9 (supposedly more accurate than conventional) I like the looks of the P9, nice accents and machining and I understand it weighs about 7 oz. less than the CW9, true? And now I see you can get an 8 round mag without the extended finger rest thereby not taking away any more from concealability, that's awesome. I look forward to learning much more as I become a Kahr guy too! Appreciate the replies.

IMO, 9mm is probably perfect for me in this lightweight gun, but if you want to go .45ACP, awesome! Hold on tight! LOL

I know my .40 cal Glocks sure are whippersnappers, I miss the pleasure of launching those smooth 9mm down range. I owned a G19 for years and traded it to get the G27 powerhouse. When I came across Kahr recently, I said, "wait a minute, this is precisely what I'm looking for." Next step, go to the gun store and fondle one. LOL.... OMG, I feel like a little kid again, Christmas in July.

Mako, thanks for the pic. Very nice looking trio there, my friend.

If you want New Years in August play with a PM45. I agree that the 9 is probably the perfect size for this class but I love my PM45 and you'd be surprised how easy it shoots. The fact that it accepts 1911 mags makes it the perfect back up gun for my Para. I'm pretty much 45 all the way now in my carry guns. Still grab the 40 once in a great while for nostalgia purposes and so it won't get jealous and lonely in the box. The 40 is a boomer, I have a K40 and even with a magna port job she bucks. Its ok but she bucks.

Nice....thanks for that. I've never even fired the "BIG 45" much less owned one....LOL New Years in August Well, just like New Years follows Christmas, hey, ya never know! Mabe, next Fouth of July! I'm just getting all worked up here about that P9 for now....It pays to look beyond the world of Glock. I think I see a bright future with P9. Kahr sure has filled a nice niche in the market for a quality lightweight slim single stack 9mm.
