How many rounds through? Full mag or empty? I'll beat the other members to the punch. If it's not malfunctioning, SHOOT IT................................................ ........................................

I think that what you maybe feeling is the striker being returned to it's pre-loaded position as the slide comes forward.

What muggsy said, or where the barrel hood contacts the most rearward lip of the recess in the underside of the top of the slide. On my old PM9, the one Kahr replaced after sending in for a barrel peening issue, if I eased the slide forward slowly enough the peened part of the barrel would actually hang there and keep the slide from going into battery.

[QUOTE=smokemup;345358]...So has anyone come up with a way to flatten out the lovely "Kahr Frame Bulge?" I'm thinking you could squeeze it to shape, but then you'd have to file down the rails a bit for fit. All of them I've seen are like that, and that's just piss poor engineering..../QUOTE]

That's not a flaw or anything. They are engineered that way. So I gotta think there is a purpose and that they are smarter than me so I'd recommend you leave the bulge. Glad it's shooting well. Keep us posted.

I love the PM9, it was my second Kahr, if I had bought it first, it might have been my only one. Love at first shot.

The polymer frame is molded around the front slide rails. That bulge adds to the rigidity of the frame. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Leave well enough alone. Why is it that some people are never happy with what they have?

I never noticed that before, probably never would have if it hadn't been mentioned. That isn't enough to bother me at all. It's a gun made to be shot, not looked at. I'd be damn happy if that was the worst concern I ever had with a gun.

If your frame fails after you modified it Kahr is under no obligation to replace it. You just blew the warranty.

"thats just piss poor engineering"

....hands the file over to Smokemup.....

I hope Justin and the boys at the CAD/CAM stations are watching. Maybe they could learn a thing or two.

Lets see, you.... reworked the magazine release in a way that the magaine is more likely to fall out during a high stress situation (ie, "I pressed what?"). You polished all those nasty parts that Kahr didn't see fit to impart any sort special surface finish to. And, you want to rework the frame, squeeze it... then file those generously sized frame railes to make things fit again.

My God man, you ought to be running the damn company with the knowledge and expertise you have. For the life of me, I cannot fathom how any Kahr pistol ever thought to function before you came up with all the fixes.

Repeat post number 7. It's not a mistake, it's not a flaw, you are not smarter than Kahr. But it is your gun so do as you wish and I hope it works out well for you. Oh, and you're not smarter than the moderators either. (Thanks Colonel for letting me get that in there before you shut 'er down). :)
