Hello All!

I bought my first Kahr recently as back-up weapon for work. I love the pistol but I have a question.

I would like for the magazine to be flush with the bottom of the magwell, as it would print less in the position that I carry it in.

Is there a way to do this or a part I can replace?

I have indicated below in the picture how I would like it to be.

Any help would be much appreciated!

You can try the flat metal base plate. Sold on the Kahr website of course.

Excellent question, I was wondering the same exact thing. New here as of today.

Actually, I was just on Kahr website and it looks like the flush metal magazine baseplates are only for the smaller PM9 and MK9. True?

The flush metal baseplates specced for the PM series will work on the P/CW series of the same caliber.

The gap is there using either base plate. Learn to love it.

That's about the long and short of it Ripley. I lean towards getting a PM series if size is a larger concern. Kahr magazines are universal in all but one area, that is the length in the grip frame (think room for more rounds). The only time you can't switch magazines at will with a Kahr is using a M/PM series magazine in anything larger. The same applies to a P/K series going to a T/TP series. You can always use a T/TP magazine with any Kahr. As has been said there is a flat metal base plate, but there will be a gap, however slight.

I have tried this before and can illustrate what it looks like on my K9. I used a base plate from my PM9. You still have the protrusion, but maybe it would be better than the larger plastic base plate.

I appeciate the replies and I'm delighted to learn this. I think this contributes significantly to concealability as we all know the grip is the hardest component to conceal.

My second day here and I'm very impressed at the level of knowledge amoung the members and equally as appreciative of your willingness to share it. Thanks. Looking forward to being a Kahr guy. :)

Nice weapon, every time I see a picture of a CW9 it makes me smile knowing I have one too. Good luck, how do you wear it so that the mag seating makes it print more noticably? Just curious,

Under my uniform shirt under my left arm. It sticks out just a little bit. I think replacing it with the flat base might just help.

Good news guys, just took the leap to becoming a "real" member here as I just ordered my P9 15 minutes ago! :)

I just ordered my P9 tonight! I'm stoked! Does anyone know if I can buy only the flush baseplates or will I have to buy the PM magazine to get it?

You can buy the flush metal baseplates from Kahr for 15 dollars. I put one on one of my K9 mags. Now if they would make one for the .45 mags.

Why, thank you, Dietrich! Sometimes it's just my laziness looking for an easier way to do stuff... and cheaper, though sometimes I break something and it costs me more!

When I put the metal base plate on the K9, there was still plenty of grip for me and that combo didn't pinch, but I wasn't crazy about the look and don't CCW the K9.

The plastic base on the PM45 gives me just enough grip, but I don't know what it would be like with a flush-fitting metal one. I guess it would give just a bit more grip than the PM9, which gives me a 2-finger grip... like the P380. But they don't kick as much, unless you're using stout loads.

Hey Wynn, I went the opposite way... Put on a base plate like you show in the last pic onto my PM9 magazine. Problem is it won't go all the way into the mag well and seat. I read here in a posting which base plate to order and did, but now I can't use it. I really like the base plate on my PM45 and wanted to do the same for my PM9. Any suggestions?

The metal flush base plate is pretty shiny for a CCW pistol, don't you think?
Any ideas? Paint it black? (Hey, wait a minute, that's an old Rolling Stones tune)
No, really, can you paint the base plate to eliminate the "bling" possibly allowing someone to see that real shiny thing?
