Here is the new addition to my carry rotation. Glock 19 Gen4, purchased from Grab-A-Gun for $539.00. Even after shipping and FFL fee I was all-in for around $565.00 I thought that was a pretty good deal.

I have a High-Noon custom OWB holster on order, but that won't be in for a few weeks yet. So I got one of the cheapie Glock Sport-Combat holsters from Amazon for $14.00. The thing is cheap, but it just plain works! The gun fits securely and the holster causes the gun to ride high and tight to the body for excellent concealment. It will suffice in the meantime until my High-Noon gets here. I only carry my guns OWB, as IWB just doesn't feel comfortable to me. I may have to re-visit that however, at least with my Shield and CW380.

The 4 extra backstraps that the gun comes with will be a great way to custom-fit the gun to my hand once I figure out which one works best. The installation procedure is simple and elegant, using only 1 pin.

I also installed the butt-plug that I got from Glockmeister. It gives the gun a more finished look, IMHO.

I took it the range for the first time on Sunday after field stripping and cleaning and lube. Ran about 150 rounds through it, combination of Freedom Munitions 124gr. FMJ reman. and HST 124gr. JHP which is my regular carry ammo. The gun ran flawlessly, without a hiccup. Fits my hand well, and points intuitively. The factory sights were dead-nuts on right out of the box.

This is my first Glock, and I really like it! My next purchase will be a G30S , and then possibly a G26. I'm not interested in the G43, as my Shield fills the single-stack roll perfectly.

I plan to trick-out this gun a little. First will be a good set of night sights either tritium or fiber-optic. I'm leaning towards the Trijicon HD's, or the XS Big-Dot, but I'm open to suggestions. I also plan to have the slide Cerakoted a titanium color, and drop in a Zev 3.5 trigger package.

Very nice! I've been considering building a ground-up Timberwolf Glock 17. I like the 1911 grip angle more than the Luger angle Glocks use. I've read that for approx. the same price as a fairly upgraded G17 or G19 you can hand build the Timberwolf frame up from bare bones, which not only sounds like great fun and a fantastic learning experience, but after holding one of those frames, it seems like it'd be a killer shooter. Nice price on a ridiculously reliable gun.

The G19 sales wise, is the number one gun in the world. I recommend all new shooters at least try one. About the same size as a 1911 commander ( although thicker), so small enough to carry ( for us fat guys anyway), but large enough for home defense etc.. Easy on the hand at the range, a great gun. Period. I have TFO sights on my Gen 3, which I have grown to love, gives you the best of both worlds.

I was planning on getting a Gen4 as soon as I wear out my Gen2 (upgraded to Gen3 frame.) It might be a while....

The G19 gen 4 and G30s are the only 2 Glocks i own. Probably the only ones I'll ever buy. I like the SF frame on the 30S and the smallest grip on the g19.

The 30s is my HD gun with a laser sight and the g19 is my practice gun.

Glad yours is working well. My 30s gas been flawless since round one. The G19 had some growing pains in the beginning but has smoothed out.

About 9 months ago bought a G19 gen4 to augment my class demo guns (we get a lot of cops wives). I held off from buying a Glock for years and I am sorry I waited so long to add one to my lineup.

I added Ameriglo sights, extended slide release, grip force adapter, and that gun has become one of my favorite high capacity carry guns.

Simplicity works. I am very impressed with this gun.

I love my G19, it's my daily carry. I updated the sights (Ameriglo Operator night sights), but left the trigger stock since it's my carry gun. I did add some bling with a Brilliant Backstrap (I'm friends with the owner, she usually only does M&P backstraps but made an exception). I carry it in an Ava IWB by Flashbang holsters.

For proper grip, here are a couple of slides I made for my classes:

You want there to be a straight line down the slide of the gun to the your forearm. This allows the gun a straight up and down pivot point, so you get your sights back on target faster. You also want a gap between the frame and your index finger (trigger finger bicep as we call it) so when you move your finger to press the trigger, your "bicep" doesn't push on the frame of your gun, causing your shots to go left.

Also, if you draw a line on your finger across the center of the circles of your fingerprint, that's the part of your finger that you place on the face of the trigger.

So, with that said, this is my G34 with no grip insert. I have a straight line going from the sights down my arm, and plenty of room between my trigger finger bicep and the frame of the gun. This is a good fit.

Same gun, this time using the large grip insert. Notice the gap vanished. Now my finger would push against the frame of the gun and cause my shots go go left of center (right handed shooter). If Tom Givens were here, his ink pen would find its way between the frame and my finger. Ouch. (Voice of experience)

To compensate, I rotated my hand around to create that gap on the slide, but now my arm is not lined up straight with the gun. Now my gun would recoil off to the side, making it very difficult to find my sights again for a quick follow up shot.

And that completes our lesson for today.

Bawanna complemented me on my CC pictures, too, so he's not biased about genders, though he does seem partial to his "cyber wives".

I like the G-19, too. Got my wife a Gen 3 because she could rack my G23C, but then she said it was too big, so I got her a Gen 4 and that was still too big. She did enjoy shooting .22 with the conversion, but her first 9mm with the G19 kind of shocked her... wee bit more kick. Of course, I was behind her taking a video with my camera for that! :D

On all Glocks, I change the slide lock, the mag release and the slide release to the extended ones, and use a Ghost 3.5 connector, as well as adding a grip plug and HD night sights. I used the ZEV Race Connector and left the trigger spring stock on my new G30S.

Wynn :D
