I just received my copy of this months American Rifleman and on the cover was what I first thought was, "Oh, another AR clone" but then I noticed it had a bolt-action on it. How unique I thought and after reading the article I was really impressed with the capabilities and flexibility of this rifle. I watched a video on Ruger's website and it sure looks darn accurate. I don't think you could ask more from any rifle than that.

What I was wondering if anyone here has seen or held one yet? I'm very curious to check one out very soon. Anyone else looking to purchase one? It only comes in three calibers, .308, .243 Winchester and 6.5mm Creedmore. The latter is the caliber that American Rifleman tested. I'm shocked it didn't also come in a .223 version also. The MSRP is $1399.00 currently. Seems to be basically a competition ready rifle out of the box. Strange thing to me though, is the 6.5 Creedmore comes with a 24" barrel, but the .308 only comes in a 20" barrel, while the .243 Winchester comes in a 26" barrel. I'm sure many of you have already seen the magazine and read the article I was curious on what others thought about this new rifle from Ruger. Looks like a winner to me.

My son was one of the first to fire it at H&H Firearms in OKC. He put up a the very first vid on Youtube last Saturday. At H&H and Ruger's request he took it down until Monday 7/20 to coincide with the "first" official announcement. His Youtube channel is "fattywithafirearm". Due to the overwhelmingly positive response Ruger came out early and they are headed to distributors now.

I looked up your son's video and didn't see any for the Ruger Precision Rifle yet, will it be re-posted soon? I did see a couple others where they were shooting it at around 1100 yrds, I've read 1600 yrd shot are also possible with good accuracy if the shooter does his part.

The Ruger seems to have copied this little known gun manufacturer out of NY.........
