Well it’s been awhile since I put something up. My niece is on the last few days with us before going back to home in Fla. And I want to take her to my range for some family time. She has shot some before but not a lot. So I brought a few different guns
Sig 1911-22, CM9,Ruger Blackhawk 38/357 and my Marlin 1894 38/357 and of course my side arm xdm compact 45. I just loaded 38 spl for this trip. She had a real good time with the 1911-22 let her shoot the CM9 she wasn’t to fond of that, does take a little time with that. And finally let her shoot my carry XDM 45 that I only loaded one round at a time in the mag for her. Didn’t get a good picture of her with the 45. And that all was at the indoor range then time to go hit the outdoor range. There we worked with the Blackhawk for awhile the then it was time for the 1894. That she really liked the 1894, we only set the target out at 25 she wasn’t used to long range and this was a fun trip. So that wraps my range day with my niece

Congratulations to you both. I bet we all remember our "special Uncle". Often hard to tell who has the most fun, Niece or Uncle.

Here is a few with the Blackhawk and she did out shoot me with the 1894. Man I hate to loose to a girl but she’s family . And to answer Bawanna she is taken for with her 4 ½ year old son and a hubby sorry buddy but that’s the way the bullet drops. But I know you’re a good guy maybe next time:). As for me I still have a lot of guns to clean

Even though I think he is on vacation, Bawanna responded to that post right away! That looks like a great day family shooting. Have fun cleaning those guns too.

You are a GREAT uncle... bravo! Absolutely fantastic!

One very small little point. I could not help but notice and apologize for brevity and bluntness.

Your niece has the basics down fairly well, but... her standing stance leaves a bit of room for improvement. Her hips forward, shoulders back stance is fairly typical of many female shooters. I've always attributed this to lack of chest and upper arm/shoulder strength. Sorry, but I don't know the names for the muscle groups. Females often compensate for this by leaning backwards to in an effort to "keep the gun up in the air". Of course, this make their handling of recoil harder to handle, and in effect, makes them a "push-over". If the pistol was a .44 mag, I could invision an "on their butt" female.

In a nice way, you might want to coach her the next time she comes to visit.

Great job unc'!

I love stuff like this. Memories for both of you that last forever.

I love a push over myself but I don't think this is one. Sorry she's already taken.

I'm back just now. Internet over at the lake was spotty and slow and frustrating but I caught a ton of trout and bass. Plentiful, some big bass, trout nice but not huge.

I'm still relatively new to shooting but what you said is great advice given in humility. I've seen and experienced the same thing and know Unc will work on it with his niece. It helped me.
