You know, the one you could replace but for a lot more $ than when you bought it?
And now the only thing you have to show for it is the Merit Badge...

I have quite a few of these Badges, all rightly deserved!

My regret was an old Colt AR-15 that I bought for $200 sold when NJ passed more stupid laws and were later repealed after the gun was gone.
Also a WWII Garrand.....

My list is large and probably includes every gun I ever sold. An AR Match Target, a Dan Wesson Pistol Pack just like the one you posted earlier, a Colt Officers ACP.
On and on.

Original Colt Mustang, Colt Trooper, S&W Model 29, Ruger 30.06, I'm sure there are others if I think about it. When purchased, the two Colts were roughly $275 NIB. I doubt that I had $1,000 invested in all four of them, combined.

My dad always drilled into my head "Never sell a gun." I listened. Now that I'm getting older I really don't want to burden my family with getting rid of my guns...
So I'm taken'em with me.

Good plan- let me know how you implement it - I may be interested.
As far as regrets over a sold/traded gun, I have one. I traded a CW45 on a PM45 several years ago. The PM was stolen and eventually replaced by a CM45. However the only replacement for the CW was another CW, so I bought one. I have sold or traded dozens of guns over the last 40 something years, including a couple of Kahrs, but that CW45 was the only one I replaced with the same gun.

There are so many to name but the first two that come to mind are a Smith and Wesson Model 1917 and a Colt Stainless Officer's Model.
I also owned a S&W 625 but the 1917 was a lighter revolver and shot light a dream. Just hated having to deal with the moon clips.
The Colt looked good with a satin finish and felt so good in the hand. Could drive nails with this one but ended up trading it for the Sig P220 (a solid gun in its own rights) that I still have in the safe.

My officers model was satin as well, many had issue's with them but mine ran like a top, I still miss it.
I'm still on the prowl for a 625, want one badly. Played with a guys 1917 last summer, the moon clips were in fact a pain but kind of a good pain.

Traded a cw9 I should have kept for a cm9. But thats Ok because i got a ct9 this year for $75 less than what I got for the cw9 a few years ago. That doesnt happen very often.

Like this!
CZ-75 bootlegged from Canada with no import marks, FN-FAL, thats about it.
Anything else I sold was because I had changing tastes, changing needs and desires.... no big deal.

Oh yeah, the Star was a super underated fine piece of machinery. And great for people with small hands too. Everybody looked down their noses at the lowly Star.
Lesson learned, don't let other peoples opinions ruin your relationship.

Mine was a S&W 6" 686 and a Colt goldcup national match 80 series. Till this day I reget selling them. The price nowadays for those guns are so expensive that I can not afford them anymore

Still have my Star PD and Stainless Colt Officers .45 acp. Not looking to sell either.

Sold a Rohm .22 and a Llama .380 to friends - no regrets about getting rid of those.
Sold a LNIB S&W Model 10 with 6" barrel to my brother, then traded a Colt Trooper .22lr with 6" barrel for a Colt Government .380. Lots of regrets about those, but at least the Colt .380 is still a LNIB queen in my safe. Replaced the S&W Model 10 with a Ruger Service Six .357, which was gifted to one of my sons 20 years ago.

I have a Star Model 30. Was my first "wonder 9". Still a good shooter after 25 years. I didn't sell any, I just loaned a couple out that never came back. Freaking ex brother in law says they were stolen by a girlfriend, and won't pay me for them. Jerk. Got me for an SKS and a Winchester Model 12. And a girlfriend let someone steal my Charter Arms .44. At least she paid back some on it.

That's a great pistol, Barth. Maybe you can find another one. My USPc SS was one of the guns stolen four years ago, but I managed to find another one. I also have an HK45c which has a little better ergonomics, but it's all black and I like the USPc better.

A pair of .45 ACP Series 70 with consecutive serial numbers and NIB. I gave each one of my sons one when they turned 21 and no, I have no regrets parting with them.

Marlin 39A, take down. My father gave it to me when I was 5, stayed with me until I was in my 20's. It just walk out of my life, never have found out who took it. I find them often at gun shows but they now go for $700-900.

I think I remember when you sold that Speed Six . It kinda surprised me because I knew you liked it.
I wouldn't mind getting my CZ P01 SDP back but its proceeds funded a couple other guns that I still have...so it's OK.
I have quite a few that I thought about selling but never pulled the trigger. That makes me happy. Then again I am a boater and you just never know.................

Yeah, that one hurt but, wanted to make a foray into 1911, and it helped fund my Springer compact. The wife has the Wiley Clapp, so I can still shoot a revolver, The Springer is nice.

^^^ you did good. There's something special about throwing those .45cal boolits out of a good 1911. I think I need to have a .45cal day at the range... :D
