I recently ordered a P45 machined slide stop from Kahr as a replacement for the MIM slide stop in my CW45. I just received it the other day and as I was installing it in my CW45 I noticed that the "shaft" portion of the slide stop that goes through the frame is loose (wiggles back and forth a little) and turns freely within the assembly (although it does not come apart completely), unlike the MIM original CW45 slide stop, which is rigid, and appears to be of one piece. Is this normal?

Completely normal. The shaft part is a separate part held by a little detent pin which rides in a groove on the lever part. Designed to free spin so to speak.
Either pin works fine and both would probably last forever.
Nothing to be concerned about. Your good to go.
As my compatriots in the ways of Kahr have made perfectly clear, normalcy is the case.
Question: So, get out your magnifiying glass, look at that lever reallly closely. How do you suppoose the lever itself was made?

I wasn't gonna bring that up CJB, you may have just burst the MIM balloon.

THERE IS 3 PARTS TO THE MACHINED SLIDE STOP AND like CJB stated, the slide is still an MIM part. Alot of misconception sh!t about MIM vs. forged/machined parts..
GET WELL MUGGSY
That was a niggardly blow from yours truly. I apologize to the OP, and will lose at least 5 minutes sleep because of it.

No need to bring race into this...:)
I didn't. The word means meager, less than full portion. And there is no need for the automatic censor to censor that word.

I do know what the word means, and CBJ is correct. It was just my feeble attempt at a joke by double-entendre', as indicated by the smiley-face emoticon. And I agree; there is no need to censor the word, as it is a legitimate word and was used properly by CBJ in the sentence. Sorry, I didn't mean to cause a stir.
Don't worry, this the KAHR forum... stir, what stir? We don't need no steenkin' STIR! (and neither do we get any)

Well I wish you guys would make up your damn fool minds. The word PC police let it through, I fixed it on account of if it offends then we fix it, now nobody is offended, smiley faces and all which I noted at the time and thought about leaving but I need to do something around here once in awhile or JohnH will think I'm useless and will cut me lose and I'll be back to fisticuffing with ever Tom, Dick and Jocko that comes around.
Sincerely
Racist Police.

Back to the subject, I think all the P series use the "rolling" slide stop. My P9 has it.
