I don't often shoot my revolvers since cleaning something six chambers is about as much work as cleaning 3 semi auto pistols. But, this one might be worth the trouble. Has anybody played with one yet? I would love to hear some experiences with either the new ones or the originals.

I've heard of a few people getting the new 715, and being very pleased with it. They should be for a > $1000 revolver. You can check it out over at the Dan Wesson Forum.
However, they are only offering the 6" barrel at this time, and the revolvers are pretty difficult to actually find in stock anywhere. I sure wouldn't mind having one.

I have some older Dan Wessons, including a Model 15-2. They were very desirable revolvers in revolver competitions years ago. Something about the way the barrel and the barrel shroud locked up and the adjustable gap between the cylinder and the forcing cone made them very accurate.
I was able to get a Blued model 15-2 in at least 95% condition (it looked unfired) built in the late 70's with 4 barrels, hard case, and assorted goodies for less than that several years ago. Prices have went way up on those Pistol Packs though, if you can find one for $1500 from the auction sites that is in good shape, then you're doing good.

There is a place that builds sells different length barrels and shrouds, but they are blue. I've not shot the 15-2, but I have shot a 14-2 (the service model, with fixed sites) and it's a darned nice shooter. It groups as well as any S&W revolver I have.

I have read the new CZ DW revolver is as good as the old monsoon mass models but have only held one . Be it a s&w or DW both can hit 1000 dollar retail price . I rather have the DW .

WE have a .22lr 2 357mag 15-2 and a 44 from the mid to late seventies . All are still tack drivers today .

EWKarms has a nice selection of DW upgrades including springs and does Stainless Steel shrouds and comp's . LB Cutoms grips covers any BBQ grips you could even want . Also hogue has wood grips

I have sort of a love/hate relationship with my revolvers. I love to shoot my 686, but hate to clean it. I love the way they look, but end up never carrying even my small revolvers. The 715 just looks like fun. Thanks for the responses.

Send me over that 686. Has to be a pain to clean for ya. I suffer in your behalf.

I'd rather it be a housewarming present for your move over this way. At least that way I could still shoot it sometimes. :)

Using Eezox on it seems to make cleanup go better too. I think I could have nightmares about what it took to clean it up from the way I purchased it.

You and me both brother. If it's a present I quarantee you I'll bring it over on a regular basis so you can shoot it.

I'm drawing a blank, was that a 4"?

Ok guys If you own a 357 or 44 mag DW revolver and you want a much calmer shooting revolver BUY EWKarms muzzle brake or get on the list for the next batch . Best 65 bucks I ever spent on a accessory . I got one in today and tried it on my 15-2 with a 4" barrel with a 158gr load that still manages 1320fps with the 4" barrel and has been a snappy load in the past . Not now. It really feels more like a average 38 special load at 900fps . This will make shooting hot loads fun.
Had to edit the FPS of the load . Got both the 8" and 4" mixed up part of both. !!!
The brake is a 4th gen design and really works well .
