Finally got the opportunity to take the Sig P320 out to the range today. Only had time to run 50 rounds through the Compact .40SW but it is an impressive firearm. No surprise, not a single malfunction. Guess that break-in period only applies to Kahr (couldn't resist).
I have to admit the first shot was a bit of a shocker. I've been carrying a P229 for about five years now and a P220 before that. Needless to say, the Striker Fire Action is a wee bit different from the DA/SA that I've used before. I pulled the trigger on the first shot as I would any other Sig and it took me by surprise. The shorter trigger pull took about three magazines to get used to.
I liked the short reset and overall handling of the weapon. It will take a few more trips to the range to get comfortable enough to carry the P320 as my daily driver, but first impressions are good. It's also neat to be able to pull the guts out of the frame so easily. Makes cleaning the firearm a lot easier.

Sounds good, but after 35 years with hammer fired SIG's, I'm not sure I could get comfortable with the striker.
BTW, I've never experienced a break in with Kahr either.:)

I know several guys in your boat that changed recently and now shoot the P320 almost exclusively. Personally I never liked the DA/SA I just got used to it but never really liked it.

Don't you mean kahr and les baer have a recommended break in !!
The p320 does have a nice short trigger reset and a very controllable recoil . My wife has a couple DA/SA pistol and like others I never was comfortable with the very different trigger pulls .

The P320 is basically the SA side of the DA/SA triggers. I just have to get my muscle memory used to not having that long, first shot trigger pull.
One curiousity question on the striker-fire design. Any issues with dry firing the P320?

Use a snap cap and blaze away . I dry fired around 500 times before I ever fired a first round . Takes a short slide movement to reset the trigger so the snap cap will not fall out .

Not unlike the first time you fire a Kahr.

Or 1911 or m&p or sig or , or, .. I depends on time of day pick up a handgun more than any other reason I use snap caps . If daylight when ready to run then live rounds are fired . If dark , snap caps . Sometimes both .

Not really.
I found the Kahr CW380 to have a longer trigger pull than the P320.
I like the trigger action on the Kahr but feel it is more akin to a revolver trigger.
The P320 has a shorter trigger stroke, much like a single action auto.
Both feel good in the hand and it won't take long to develop a feel for the P320's trigger where it is as natural as that of the P229.
I'm also impressed on how well the P320 handles the recoil of the .40. I expected with the loss in weight the recoil would have a little more punch.
Instead, the P320 handles the recoil a bit better than the heavier counterparts.
