Years ago I bought an inexpensive digital General caliper from Harbor Freight, it has a plastic body and is no frills basic. Got to wondering whether it was accurate, bought a much nicer metal caliper with one more digit of accuracy from a recognized manufacturer of calipers. Today I compared the measurements only to find the cheap old one gives consistent readings just one ten thousandths shorter than the new ones (grin)! Which is right? May have been wiser to buy a certified checker ( of known length certified) to find out huh. As of right now I'm confident I'm reloading to plenty close enough over all cartridge length. This joke was on me!:)

There's nothing wrong with buying quality products. There is no such thing as good enough. It's either good or it's not good. You bought what you could afford and now you have better.
