Funny...
The anti-gunners would have a field day when they see this. However, we have idiots on bikes riding on our narrow Sierra mountain roads causing all kinds of problems. Every go into a blind corner on a two lane 45 mph mountain road and nearly run over a fool on a bike riding 10 mph? Ever seen a bike stop at a stop sign? Ever see a bike get hit by a 3000 pound car? There's not much left, but they insist on "Share the Road."????

When someone on a bike can demonstrate that they can maintain 50 mph for at least 2 miles while traveling uphill, sure, I'll gladly share the road.
Until then, they are just self-centered, extremely dangerous roadblocks. Their abject disregard for the safety of others who must take evasive action into oncoming traffic lanes leaves me speachlessly infuriated.

Hey.... I've been riding my fat bike on the road.
I do obey the stop signs and lights. Do wait for the left arrow, do not cross or turn on red.
I do stay to the right, except for when I need to make a left turn, in a left turn lane. Then I'm on the right side of the left turn lane.
I'm used to using HAND SIGNALS from riding the Harley, so that comes naturally to me, including the hand down palm back "stop" signal.
Gotta say folks usually... usually... give me the respect I deserve - yes deserve. Deserve because I ride right, and the road is there for me too.
On the other hand......
MOST OF THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS WITH OTHER BICYCLE RIDERS!!!!!!
The pack mentality is worse than I've ever had when riding motorcycles.
"Get that F'n thing off the road" - is what they tell ME on the fatbike... hey wait... you want share the road? Hypocrites.
"Ride that pig on the beach" - same thing.
Had one guy whack the back of my head - which happens to be a misdemeanor battery - out of the blue, because he could, and I couldn't catch him.
Pisses me off to no end. The bicyclists getting on other cyclists... wtf for?
Elitism. Their crap don't stink, they are kings of the highway.
Bunch of ass wipes if you ask me.
So.... if you see some old fat dude on a new fat bike, plodding along at 15mph, its me. Thank you for the same courtesy I afford you.
If you see some guy with a gay ass spandex outfit on, and a helmet that looks like a new-age douche nozzle, then feel free to do what you will with the turd.

Thought that was what the Serbu was fur?
I would not shoot a man for being an ass hole.
I would shoot him for being an armed ass hole.
The finer points do matter.

Oh I forgot, you have standards. Glad I'm not restrained by such things myself.
Course if I went round just shoot A holes just cause there'd be quite a string of dead A holes all over the place.
Guess that's why I like to stay home, just one. Me.

Maybe a little rock salt to the tightly spandexed heinie would send a meaningful message?

You know its pretty easy to click your turn signal and pass when its safe...
Oh I forgot, you have standards.
Standards? Beyond the American Standard in the loo? A few, but be reassured, they're quite low.
Ya know... standards like, "all my wimmen gotta be the kind born with a vagina". Easy standards.

I can tell we're getting older. You know the old saying.... "Don't mess with an old man cause he'll just kill you." seems to rising to the fore around this ole pot belly stove of a forum.

Other than showing John was a crack shot, I don't get it. But it's all faked, John would never shoot anyone in the back.

Sadly in my valley that can be miles and miles with curves and slight hills, lots of blind spots.
I have no issue with considerate bicyclist, it's the ones that ride 2 or 3 abreast with no consideration in the least for people getting to work or coming home or going to the bicycle shop so they can be a holes too.
A week ago I encountered a string of them with a car following acting as a blocker I guess with the flashers going. He was waving me around in places that I could not see nearly far enough ahead to pass. The car made it even worse as you had to get around him first. No gap between him and the bikes so created an all or nothing.
I'm instructed my wife that if it comes down to a head on or putting some bicyclist in the ditch, put em in the ditch.

You know, i have that thought guite regularly. I'm only early 50's but I've decided I'm too tired to fight and take longer to heal so I'll avoid what I can but if something starts look for me to decisively take the level of action necessary to stop the problem so that I can get back to the couch.

He was plastered at least three quarters of the time, so I don't think he could hit a barn from 3 ft. away with a rock............................................:p

The Duke was a mans man alright....He was a Conservative Republican and even thought about running for President in 1968 but figured nobody would vote for a movie star....Too bad he didn't and we got Nixon ....Watched what I think was one of the best westerns he ever made last night...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN0onE09-8c
John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart and Lee Marvin....Great stuff....Funny true Duke story, He was good frinds with actor Ward Bond and they liked to play tricks on each other...One time Ward bet him that he couldn't punch him from a newspaper page distance away and the Duke took him up on it....Ward walked over to a doorway and laid the newspaper page down on the floor and closed the door and said go ahead, punch me......The Duke hauled off and put his fist through the door and hit Ward smack in the face winning the bet....
As for bicycles I think they are fine on a bike trail, a park or a quiet neighborhood but when Captain Spandex who thinks he's Lance Armstrong is riding on an 8 lane highway holding up traffic then that's a different matter and they are a danger to both themselves and drivers that have to try and get around them.....Idiots that ride bicycles on major roads and highways are no different that crotch rocket motorcycle riders blasting by traffic at over 100 mph weaving in and out of lanes and are what give safe riders that obey the rules a bad name....
Like CJB, I'm a cyclist who only wants a little common courtesy respect. Same as I extend to others....on a bike, driving a car, and otherwise. Unlike CJB, more in keeping with the Bawanna philosophy, I'd have no qualms about satisfyingly blowing a hole in an ass hole like that if I rather well knew I could get away with it. Fortunately I live in a pretty bicycle friendly place with a wide mix of riders and cyclists. Still, like almost always when I'm away from the house, I ride armed.

Those damn bike riders are worse than sheep hearders , I told them not to cross my fence or there would be hell to pay!

When I was a pup I rode a bike (only ever had one and that was passed down) all over town. Back then nobody even had fences so we kids had the run of the place. Instead of seen as a bother, folks just smiled and waved. Then eventually my begonias dropped and everything changed. I tried riding again years later but found I needed a tractor seat to give me room. Never tried since. Now driving, I picture riders as surrounded by an invisible ultra thin crystal sphere that can be shattered even coming close to them. I believe the modern term for that sphere is called a lawsuit. Every time you see one, think there goes another crystal lawsuit down the road.

That may be John Wayne but that's definitely Clint Eastwood music!
