Good afternoon all -

I have a CW45 and a CW380 on the way and the question I have that I can't seem to find the answer to is can I replace the MIM slide stops on each with the higher quality P model slide stops?!?! I haven't had an issue with my 45 or the cw40 I used to have but may just do the swap if they will fit.

Thx in advance,

Derek

There have been previous threads on the subject and the answer has always been: "yes", "why?" The MIM part preforms just as well as the machined part so there isn't any benefit to justify the cost. FYI: both levers are MIM...it's only the pin that is machined on the P series slide stop. Hope that helps and saves you some $$$. :)

The "machined" slide stops have MIM levers anyway... you're be getting the very hard, durable, pin, but nothing else better.

Considering the molded slide stops, like Colt and Ruger and just about everybody else, including Kahr, uses... hardly ever break, the question absolutely is: Why?

I can neither see distinct advantage, nor bragging rights for the "machined" slide stop.

They fit. I happen to like the look of the "P" series stop more than that of the "C" series stop.:hippie:

I have an older P9 and I was thinking about getting the MIM slide stop so I could grind it shorter for a thinner pistol.

Well, the stop on my CW9 just broke after 4 rounds!

Kahr is sending a new one under warranty, but are telling me it's going to be a week. I want to shoot my new gun.

That is unfortunate, and unusual. Glad they are taking care of you.

I have a few thousand rounds thru a couple older kahrs with mim levers with no problems and I have read of levers coming off that hard shaft of the upgraded model . Luck of the draw but poo happens with any brand and model .

Doo Doo happens. The MIM slide stop in my CM9 has over 5,000 rounds to it's credit and shows no signs of wear or stress. You just happened to get the one in a million that failed. Look up and see if there's a dark cloud hanging over your head. :)

I have seen the foged slide stops break to, but this is so so rare for either..not sure about doo doo happens, but I do know Sh!t happens...

I was with a group of friends (yes Bawanna I do have some friends) last sundayt and we were shooting at their home and I let all thegals shoot my G43 and one of the guys a very good shooter to, tried my G43 and his first shot was a very low report, and he looked at me and I said whoa, lets check the gun. and sure enough there was abullet in the barrel. I have beenn shooting for over 40+ years and this is the first squibb I have ever witnessed. but prior to that event, in my 100 pak of WWB I had about 8 failure to eject, and I thoughty that was odd, for u all knbow Glocks just do not jam, and I knew my weapon was cleaned and rerady to go, and then this squibb happened in the same \box. Had a hell of a time pulling that bullet out to but got it and saved the box code and sent all to Winchester yesterday. Very lucky we did not try to run anutter round in the sun, glock or no glock, I would have blown that barrel at least. First bad batch of WWB I have ever had to. Wife and I shoot 300 rounds of WWB today out of the G43 and it was perfect..

I like to think I'm the lucky one that found the stop with the inclusion.

You should probably buy a Lotto ticket!
