.....road trip to Maine and Pa starting tomorrow late am. I usta call it vacation, but after firmly retiring just recently the term "vacation" now seems simply wrong. Gonna be gone for three weeks.

Posting mostly to freak out the folk here who know it's a bad idea to announce one's absence from the home front.

Enjoy my being gone while it lasts 'cause, sadly, I'll be back. :)

Yeah, I know what you mean about "vacation." I retired 15 years ago and haven't had a day off or a vacation since.:p Enjoy the trip and hurry back!

I retired a few year ago and now find I work more with no pay than I did when I was getting paid. Not sure what you mean by this "vacation" though. Anyways, enjoy your trip!

I am worried. Without you input, nobody will ever know the right proportions regarding any feminine graphics that are posted in your absence.

You going to visit Kahr's new plant in PA?

Have a great time!

Itxi, I generally like at least two weeks prior notice of any absence except medical emergencies in which case 1 week is plenty.

I guess I'll make an exception in this case rather than make a big to do about it, but do exercise a little consideration in the future.

I could be retired by the time you get back, well retired might not be the right choice of words, perhaps unemployed.....

Probably not, I'm not that lucky.

Be careful on the road, the highways are full of morons more today than ever. Remember drive offensively.

If your not back in 3 weeks and 1 day I'm forming a posse, so be prompt in checking in upon your return.

Once your retired every day is Saturday.

Awesome. I want to try that in 10 or 15 years, or earlier if someone could provide me with the correct 6 numbers between 1 and 59. I promise I'd split the winnings.

Why do all of mine seem like Monday?

I just about choked on your reply. I'm retired since '96 and Saturdays is my chore day. Wash the car, mow the lawn, trim bushes, get the groceries, balance the checkbook, laundry day, etc. I sure hope Saturday only comes once a week. YMMV

Yeah, you wouldn't want to risk being maimed in an accident.

Well...I'm back. A day under your limit, Col, so no posse required. Wife's 55th birthday celebrated at our favorite place in Maine, four days at my sister's place in PA to inspect progress on the rebuild of their this past April burned to the ground house, and blessed peace on the drive to, between, and from (wife flies). A nice end to summer and my happy, long haul road trips for the year! Next year just on GPs May, July family reunion, and 30th anniversary September trips already roughly planned. Somewhere in there methinks the GT's gonna need new tires...I tend to run a bit hard sometimes on these trips. Once a racer and all that, ya know. :)

Also, now gots two less guns in the remuda due to helpin' sister and bil/cousin with the life rebuild.
