For so long I've wanted a pm9 or a mk9 but my budget didn't really permit it. Plus my wife would kill me if she found out I spent almost $700 on a new gun. I talked her into letting me get a cm9 and due to the price, she gave me to okay.

So today after our department range day, I went to my LGS to price some cm9's. They had a brand new cm9 for $379, which wasn't they highest I've seen around but was no deal by any means. He said with taxes would be over $410. They also had a used one for $359, which I thought was a little high. I asked him about doing a FFL transfer and he said $25. I left empty handed and started calling around. All of the shops I called around to had none in stock and had to be ordered at over $410, not including tax. I went online to gunwatcher and purchased a cm9 for $322.00 off of grabagun. Thier shipping was only $5.99 and I had to pay no taxes, just FFL fees when it arrives.

All and all I'm happy and I feel like I got a decent deal. Now I just have to wait for it to show up. Has anyone had any experience with grabagun? Also should I purchase an extended mag? How reliable are they?

Personally I'd stick with the flush mags myself. Course it depends on your intended purpose.
I just like to keep them as compact as possible, especially if it's fulfilling a back up role.

I have to check, I thought Kahr had a LE program for officers and firearms instructors and stuff. I'm not sure how that's applied. If you have to go direct through Kahr or certain dealers or what.

I think some folks here have utilized it in the past, maybe they'll help us out.

Too late for this deal but it sounds like it was a pretty decent deal anyhow.
I've not personally bought from grabagun before but know many people who have. Quite reputable and should be no worries.

I'm really just wanting the exended mag for range use. I don't plan on carrying it in the gun, maybe as an extra back up mag.

I have half heartedly looked about Kahr doing an LE or blue label program with out much luck. I would like to know for future purchases though.

I've had no luck with extended mags or Pearce pinky extensions. Both have caused my CM9 to fail to lock open on the last round. Without them - 100%. You made a good deal. Read the stickies and give it a good break in and you will love it.

Would you recomend it for just plinking? That sucks that an extended mag is as reliable. It's not to big of a deal but it would still be nice if it worked.

This will be my third Kahr so I have the breaking in down. I'm just excited to get it in and start the process.

I use Pearce pinky extensions on my 6 round magazines in my PM9, and have never had a problem with them or the 7 round extended mags.

I love to shoot my cm9 and my cw9 every time I go to the range (mostly weekly), but it gets a little pricey after both of us put a bunch of mags through there. That's why I'm going to buy a 22. We will shoot fewer rounds of 9mm and THEN start plinking with the 22. Congrats on your purchase.

Many of us have no problems with the extended mags. Sounds like they are riskier but you needn't rule them out. I use 'em for backups in a BEARDOG pocket double mag holder.

For just plinking they will be just fine. Who knows they may work just fine for you all around. These guns are all a little different. Another thing I like about the original metal base plate is it makes the gun so easily concealable. Good luck!

I have used Grab a Gun on several occasions, they are stand up folks. Highly recommend.

Would putting metal followers in the extended magazine prevent the rounds from nosediving?

what would metal have over a polomer follower, as far as nosediving. .

Idk, I'm not an engineer but according to Lake Line LLC, their metal followers prevent bullets from diving in the magazine.

First, on the magazine thing, Kahr is having a promotion which I believe entitles you to a free magazine as long as your receipt shows purchase before Sept 30th. I would submit right away for it: http://www.kahr.com/MagPromo2015.asp

I have had great experiences with Grabagun.

On the followers, our followers have a different profile that keeps more pressure on the front part of the rounds that helps keep them from nosediving. It also keeps the top round tighter in the magazine and makes it less likely to pop out on a spare magazine in a pocket or mag carrier.

Thank you. I'll have to look into some of your metal followers.

So today I recieved my new cm9. I was suppose to get it tomorrow but shipping was actually ahead of schedule. This was my first time ordering a gun online and I won't hesitate to order from Grabagun again.

I brought the gun home and gave it a much needed cleaning and completely disassembled the slide. I also racked the slide around 500 times. All I can say is this thing was tight. I thought my cw380 was tight but this takes the cake. I will say the cw380 has had close to 800 rounds through it, so it has loosened up quite a bit since it was new. One thing I have noticed is the trigger reset has more of a "Cluck" sound, compared to the "Click" my cw380 has. Anyone have any experience with that?

Anyway I plan on heading to the range and putting 200 rounds through it tomorrow.

Oh Oh,.... a cluck instead of a click!!!!!....just kiddin'. If I was creative I'm sure I could come up with a purely inappropriate comment. :p Seriously, I don't know if my cm9 clucks or clicks, but I doubt it's anything to worry about. Hey man, getting it a day early is a terrific start to a new relationship. It's such a great little gun. At least mine is.

Lmao, I felt like an idiot saying that but that's the only way I could discribe it. I'm not too worried about it but it is different. i can't wait to go to the range tomorrow and break it in. I'm putting 200 rounds of Geco 124gr through it. I plan to carry 124 gr Speer Gold Dots + p in it. It might be a little too snappy but I think it'll be fine.

Thank you for the reminder about the free magazine promotion, Alphonse. After I read your post I immediately submitted my free mag form online. I bought my CW9 online at Gunbroker.com for $255 in August, a terrific price, I think. I cleaned it and treated it with Frog Lube, like I do with my other pistols and took it to the range and shot 100 rounds of WWB without any problems except a blister on my right index finger from rubbing on the trigger guard. I took it home, cleaned and Frog Lubed it, then next week I took it to the range again for another flawless 100 rounds of WWB. Then I picked up two boxes of Hornady Critical Defense and shot one box flawlessly and used the other to carry. I'll continue to shoot a half box of the Hornady every month to confirm its fit with the CW9. This is one fine pistol! Easy to shoot, reliable, thin, lightweight, economical, easy to carry. I like the sights, so I'll probably keep them. I bought another mag and a Remora tuckable holster. Yesterday I ordered a Lakeline nylon magazine baseplate to see if it might help a little with concealment. I carry about 4 o'clock and the only thing I worry about is the end of the mag jutting out a little. I'm also considering the Lakeline metal magazine follower. I'm sure the Kahr followers are fine and reliable, and, as Jocko reminds us, Kahr will replace free any that break, but I can see the argument about a little more reliability in feeding, though I haven't had any problems, nor do I expect any. I follow the manual to use the slide release to chamber a round. Anyway, I like this forum a lot, and look forward to the updates and new threads. Thank you gentlemen, and ladies, if there be any.

Welcome to the forum! That's probably the best price I've seen for a Cw9. I'm glad you remembered your free magazine promotion. I sent mine in yesterday as well. Hopefully it won't take too long to recieved it.

Just got back from the range. The cm9 performed flawlessly and is very accurate. I fired 200 rds of Geco 124gr fmj and 50 rds of Speer Gold Dots 124gr +p. The recoil on the GD's were surprising controllable, however it did shoot with authority.

So I came home and cleaned/lubed it up. I did the same for the magazine. Happy with how it performed, I loaded up 6 rds of GD's, inserted the magazine and chambered a round. I then went to push the mag release and the mag did not come out. I tried several time the shake and tap the gun. Finally, I hit the button of the mag and heard a round move up. I was then able to release the mag. I tried the same with the Geco ammo and the same thing happened. It was like the next round was nosediving. It didn't effect of it feed, just releasing the mag.

Has anyone came across this before? I didn't notice it at the range because I was topping the mag off to get 6+1. Normally the mag releases fine without a round in the chamber. I've taken apart patenty of Kahr mags before and have never had this issue.

Thank you for the welccome, GA_Sheepdog. I couldn't believe that I won the auction and got the gun for that price. And it was NIB from a great dealer, JSP, Inc. I was prepared to go up to $300 on automatic bid, but the other bidders stopped bidding about a day and a half before the auction ended. Regarding the magazine promotion, I too received an email today informing me that the magazine had shipped. Amazing speed and service. That's what builds product loyalty, besides producing a quality product. So now I'll see about one for my wife.
