Hello, in my quest to get a more flush fit mag, I ran across this. Do you think it would work?

The magazines for Para micro 45's are just slightly shorter than those used in compact/Officers sized 1911s. They probably will not be short enough to fit flush in a CM/PM45, but I've no first hand experience in regards to this.

I have a Para 6.45. The mag catch isn't in the right place for a Para mag to work in my CM45. I can't remember about the overall length... But they don't work regardless. But I'll double check.

Thanks. I appreciate you checking that for me.

Just to make sure... I checked the original Para mags for my 6.45 Carry. They are made by Chip McCormick I believe. Are they just like the ones you saw online? If so, they definitely do not fit flush nor do they catch. Hope that helps.

CM45 to small for any 1911 mags and CMC mags need a little metal trimmer off the top of the curve to lock in and let the slide pass . You could grind the lip off the front of the stock mag and make it easier on the fingers . Both cmc and check mate need the front end of the follower bend down level and they run fine but still to long for the cm series .

He's right about the angle of the magazine lips. I've made several flush mags and the trick with the mag lips is to trim them a little at a time and then try it and see if it functions. You then need to cut the bottom off until it is flush and then have someone weld the bottom on. You may also need to trim the mag spring. For reference I have made 7 and only 3 work 100% of the time. There is a bit of trial and error

The purpose for the mag protruding from the butt of the pistol is to give you a better purchase on the magazine should the magazine stick because of a jamb. You may want to consider leaving the mag as is rather than trying to improve on something that doesn't need improving upon. I believe in function over form. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

CMC mags most likely will need a dimple on the right front side of the mag body to push the follower to the left enough so it will push the slide lock up . Had the same problem with the CMC mags on my 1911 so were all ready worked in the kahr 45 I have .
