I just picked up an MK40 and I was thinking about a set of hex head grip screws.
Does the Kahr MK series use 1911 grip screws? Or are they too long? Where can I obtain a set of hex head grip screws if 1911 screws won't work? I know where to get 1991 screws, I just didn't know if they will work or not.

Check eBay, that's where I got mine for my K9.

They are the same thread, the length I couldn't say. I've used the slim 1911 grip screws before but it mostly depends on the grip.

Yes, the MK and K pistols use the same thread pitch as 1911 grip screws, so you can use any screws for 1911 grips. They will usually need to be shortened a little to keep them from binding on the magazine. Or, you can put an o-ring spacer under the screw head. Shortening them isn't that big a deal. Just a little time on a grinding wheel, using a threaded metal shim to keep the screw steady during grinding.
