Interesting piece from the NY Slimes. It points out that in 8 of 14 mass shootings the perp should not have been able to purchase guns and that background checks failed. Maybe some of the tragedies are FACILITATED by the government(s).

There's just no magic formula that can be printed on a government form that will predict who is going to use a gun for a crime.

We need to raise better kids, so they won't do evil things.

This is true. And the system only works if they have done something bad before.
I have to issue CPL's and return guns all the time to people I know are dirtbag miscreants. But on paper and in the legal system they are qualified to own.

This may sound a bit like an argument to just ban them all but in reality its an argument to make it easier for good people (sheepdogs) to buy guns to defend against same.

I keep hearing the liberals saying we should have mandatory psych exams for gun owners and home inspections. Who is suppose to pay for that? The gun buyer? That alone would violate a number of constitutional amendments. Remember it was the liberals who wanted all the health records of patients of psych wards sealed, and who is responsible for closing all the psyciatrict wards? Maybe we need to start opening them up again? Liberals are so good at arguing for the law the way they want it interpreted, not the way the Founding Fathers meant. We need a Republican back in the White House before this crap starts getting out of hand to squash these anti-gun nuts who use any chance they can to push their agenda. Where were they when police were getting shot by the black lives matter thugs? That's ok I guess? I didn't hear any Libs crying out for the Police, the ones that come when your life is in danger and in need of help.
