For a long time a 40 cal Firestar has been my carry gun. I've wanted to try something lighter for quite some time and tomorrow I'm guna jump ship and buy a CW 40.
My question:
I've got a lot of 180 gr amo ( Sellier & Belot, & Fed Hydra-Shock's ) left that my Firestar liked.
Is this stuff ok to use in the CW 40? And will it shoot to poa with the fixed sights that come with this gun at 7 – 15 yards?

The CW40 will eat just about anything.
At 7-15 yards my CW makes one ragged hole out of 2 full mags, as long as I do my part.
I am sure you will be pleased with your purchase

I carried a Firestar m-40 for 16 years. It was the first handgun that I ever purchased. I loved it and I had a very hard time selling it so I could afford the Kahr. It was also the first gun that I ever sold. I made the switch when I decided that I would carry every chance that it is legal for me to do so. I had my LTCF for a several years but I found myself not carrying due to the wieght issues with the Firestar. That is no longer an issue. They are about the same size, they hold the same amount. The Firestar was single action and the Kahr has a super double action. All in all it was a hard choice, but I'm very happy with the CW40. I hope this helps. I just wished I had enough money to keep the Firestar. In the future I will have to pick up another.

Kahrs are manufactured and sighted POA @ 30 feet.

That's about right. Most people who come from other fire sticks, like the Kahr. Enjoy your new baby, and welcome to us. You might want to mine for gold in some of the older threads (jocko's proper prep, lube chart, CW vs P differences, manual etc.) Again welcome to the asylum.

I'm glad you're happy with your CW40!! Most people don't have as much trouble leaving a Firestar, but as I had stated, it was my first. The Kahr sure makes it a whole lot nicer to carry.

Sold the Firestar and all the 180 gr amo to my oldest son. He's been after my Firestar for a long time. He's been thinking he'd have to wait for me to kick the bucket before he could get it.
Haven't shot the CW 40 yet but will this Saturday out at my son's place. I'm waiting for some mags to come in from Kahr before I hit the range.
I ordered a bunch of 155 gr stuff for the CW 40 that I think will be a little easier on my poor old bones.
So far, I really like this gun and I'm sure I'll be happy with it... :)

That Firestar is built like a tank!! I find the CW40 a fair bit snappier (?). But the weight difference really makes a huge improvement in the daily carry. I now carry all of the time and I'm loving it!!
I am happy witrh my cw40. Don't come to any conclusions until you put 200+ rounds thru. I have a few problems during the break in period, now all is well. Be careful when you reassemble that the small spring for the slide latch ia above the latch pin when you insert the pin into the frame. I put a tiny dab of grease on the tip of the pin.
Good luck and be safe

wise idea with the grease thing on the pin. another way is to put a tad of grease on that little tab that the spring tip kinda snaps into on the slide stop lever. If you look closedl at that little tab area there is a small groove where that spring tip should lie and normally when you insert the slide stop you shouldhear a click . then your in correctly to.
