My wife bought the new Browning 1911-380 today & is now in need of an OWB leather holster to carry with. Any suggestions?

Thanks Mike

You will have to be very specific if you order one. That very fine gun is 15% smaller than a standard 1911 and probably will not fit well in a standard sized holster.

I thought that as well but wasn't certain.

I think GB has one, I don't know what if anything he did for a holster for it.

If it was mine I'd get hold of Bob at Mernickle Holsters and see if he has a mold for one. I bet he does.

They aren't the cheapest around by a long stretch but they are the best in my personal opinion.

I know Ray at Lobo Leather had one but he is closed. Sent Mernickle an email we will see.

I imagine it would fit into holsters made for the 1911-22.

I have two leather holsters made by Tagua ....Both very nice suede lined with high quality leather and craftsmanship for less than half the price of a Galco or Bianchi....
http://www.taguagunleather.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=1

I checked their web site and didn't see anything for a 1911 .22 but that's a pretty rare gun but if you have any other handgun holster needs and don't like paying way too much just for a name brand then check out Tauga....Just got a real nice all leather thumb snap holster for my new S&W 586 and for $39.00 it's as nice as my Galco which I paid over hundred bucks for my 5" S&W 629...Check out their web site and for the money I don't think you can beat them...

Let's go back. Do not purchase a holster based on 1911 specs. Your entire gun is scaled down 15% from a 1911 and you will need a smaller holster if you expect the gun to fit in it properly. You may contact Wilson Combat as they make a 1911 in 9mm and I believe it is also a scaled down version with a 4" barrel. They could probably tell you what percent it is reduced over a standard 1911 commander 4". That would provide you with some options. That said I will bet that Galco and some other popular makers have stock holsters that will fit fine. You probably need to get into a forum that has more new Browning 380 owners.

I would hate to see you spend a lot of money for a holster that will not work for you.
