P9 Covert Night Sights

Hello all. New guy to the forum here. I have a Kahr P9 Covert that I have been carrying for years, and I love its unique combination of longer sight radius coupled with the ability to use either 6 or 7 round magazines. I find it almost perfect for pocket carry or for use in the waistband. I'm just sorry that there seems to be no way short of buying a P9 or CW9 and taking a hacksaw to the grip to get another one. To be honest, I would not be adverse to doing this on a CW9, but the P9 is a bit pricey to cut on.

Here's my question. My covert has the "old style" slide. I'd like to spruce up my old gun a bit by bead blasting the now tarnished slide, and at the same time, install night sights. But Kahr tells me as of today, they have no more night sights for old style slides, and do not plan to get anymore, neither fronts nor rears.

Can anyone here think of another place I could buy some night sights? I contacted Trijicon and they say they do not actually make a night sight for Kahrs, but provide "lamping services" for Kahr which they will not provide to individuals. I'm not locked into them, would just like to have at least a tritium front sight on my little blaster. Any help will be appreciated.

This could be a shot in the dark. Try XS Big Dots systems. They do have sights for new and old style slides. I don't know if they have any that work with the P9, but a phone call or email to them may help. Maybe Dawson sights also.

I just replaced the night sights on my old style K9 with Meprolight's that I found on Amazon for $80. Dawson Precision also has some to choose from. Oh, and welcome!

Thanks to all for the welcome. Tried some of your excellent suggestions, most seem to be out of stock, but still looking into Optics Planet. Their description says "estimated to ship in 14-23 days" so I guess we will see.

Islander, I tried to locate the Meprolights for the old style on Amazon, but struck out. Do you have a link perhaps? Thanks.

Darn, ordered the sights and felt pretty good about it, but then got an email today from the seller saying he had some sort of "glitch" and he really didn't have the sights in stock. He asked if I would care to wait 3-4 weeks for a "possible delivery" of more. I declined and he refunded my credit card, so the search continues!

Did you check with Dawson as berettabone suggested?

Another thought regarding just a front sight: HiViz list their front sight (http://www.hivizsights.com/product-category/products/handgun-sights/kahr/kahr-front-sights/) as fitting all Kahrs with a dovetail. So I'm guessing there will be some "fitting" required to install it. Perhaps the same could be done with "new style" dovetail front sight in an "old style" dovetail slide...I mean as long as the new sight is oversize it should be possible with a little file work on the sight.
