As soon as I get elected I am going to push for seat belts on toilets. Millions of lives will be saved and I will be a national hero.

How about background checks on immigrants?
How about background checks on politicians?
How about background checks for anyone applying for a marriage license?
Background checks for people adopting kids?
For people having kids? No more crack babies, no more bringing up kids in home meth labs.
There are so many other areas of life where a "background check" (which politicians have no clue what that actually means) might prevent a tragedy, buying ammo is pretty low on the list.
They only want to prevent tragedies from happening to tyrannical politicians.

Or, background checks on voting.

This is what you call pandering to the base. I hope that the democrats keep it up. They are alienating those of us who can think for ourselves. How do you like being called a terrorist just, because you belong to the NRA. Anyone who isn't a member of the NRA is endangering the 2nd amendment to our constitution. That's the amendment that insures your personal freedom.

What makes him think people are going to turn in their magazines? New York didn't have much success getting people to turn in magazines. Most people haven't registered their "assault" weapons in CT. Or hadn't last time I saw anything about it in the news.
I wonder if you can get away with taking your magazine butt plate off and inserting a wood block so that the mag only holds 10 rounds, for going to the Shooting range, and CC (if they allow that there)

I don't think that will "fly" with CA LE. IIRC, the magazine has to be PERMANENTLY modified to only accept a max of 10 rounds. The CA approved hicap magazine on my wife's SIG has the tube shortened and a polymer block attached to extend the mag back to full size.
