Just recieved my new front Trijicon night sight & recoil spring for my EDC CW40. The whole instalation time took no more than 20 minutes, most of it was spent cleaning out the two holes in the slide of polymer residue & using Q-tips & rubbing alcohol to clean & degrease the area. The original polymer front sight took no more than 2 seconds with a pair of pliers to pop of in one twist. As soon as I cleaned out the holes with Q-tips & alcohol, I applied a small amount of red loctite (included w/the sight) in & around the holes, in the threaded pin in the sight & the screw I gently inserted the sight & with a tiny jewelry screwdriver I snugged up the screw & set the slide off to the side for 24hr to allow the loctite to cure before putting the pistol back together.

Now Kahr suggests that you replace the recoil springs on their pistols after 2000 rounds I believe. Since I do use my CW40 on occasion in IDPA and with 1100 rounds thru it so far, I decided to go ahead & order a replacement recoil spring as well... New recoil spring is on top, old on bottom.. Both the front sight & spring came from Karh arms website. Cost about 65 bux including shipping, which was very fast.... I just hope the thing doesnt pop off while shooting...

Should be stronger and more durable than the factory plastic.

Your old spring took the predesigned set. Probably not near worn out but never hurts to put a new one in.

Had an instructor at work obsessed with recoil springs when we had Beretta's. He'd take one out of his gun and hold to a new one and see the difference just like your photo. I put a new one in and told him to come back in a week and compare to his old one.

They were near identical in length.

You have no idea of the amount of cussing it took to get that god blessed new recoil spring in there... It literally took about 7-8 tries and about every conceivable combination of swear words.

I like to take new springs and place them over a long screw with a washer or two. I take a nut and compress the spring letting it set for a few hours... Helped me out on my P389 springs!

Took the pistol to the range today & put 100 rounds of X-ring 180gr. FMJ's down range and I'm happy to say that there were no failures of any kind on the new recoil spring. AND, my new front night sight is on nice & tight... To date I have 1050 rounds total thru the pistol and not one malfunction. Which is a good thing considering it is my primary EDC
