Okay, it's used.....but what can you expect from a gun built in 1917!

It's beautiful! You had to part with a lot of marbles for that.

Get the right hammer in that old pony

And the correct MSH so it will look perfect. Nice find..... makes me envious.

Gorgeous holster too!

Well I'll be tarred and feathered, I thought the arched main spring housing was correct but doing a little looking they had a flat smooth housing.

I do love me a wide spur hammer, another Greg curse. Everybody knows that.

yup, I have a hammer from an Argentine 1911 that someone shaved a bit so it won't gnaw on my hand, got some double diamond grips and like you already noticed need the right MSH. Also, gonna put a new Wolff spring pack in it before I hit the range with it.

Yup, and the trigger is shorter than mine is too.

I know a guy that can make handles for something like that, I think he's still around.

I'm gonna check my treasure chest and see if I got a main spring housing. Oh wait, we need flat not arched.

I know I got some flat but they aren't smooth, they are serrated and checkered.

Wouldn't be correct but they are flat?

I like it! What's it's story? Sometimes a good tale outweighs a few non period parts on a 1911.

Greg

I wish I did have a story on it. Fellow who had it had just gotten it and was wanting a Garand. So we made the swap. I wish it did have Bring back papers or anything, but nada. Maybe we can get Muggsy or Jocko to make up a good yarn for it....or maybe not Jocko.
