Nov 30, 2015 — Good evening everyone,

The delivery of our petition was completed at about 9:30 this morning and went about as well as I had expected. Once we arrived at the State House, we passed through security, waited there for a few minutes (not that long actually, I was surprised) and then we were met by a staffer and an intern. We were led to a small office, right off the security screening area. This little "meeting area" is divided completely by the desk, the staff goes through one door, and we had to go through another, so that we were on the correct side of the desk and kept at a safe distance I guess. I explained our petition and was advised they would pass it along to the appropriate staff member. On the way out, the State Trooper standing guard at the security desk was actually more willing to have a conversation about the petition and the rights of the citizens to keep and bear arms than the staffer. He was supportive, but like everyone else, felt that it would never happen. We shall see!

Now it is up to all of us to contact our Assembly Members and start asking questions to make sure they have heard about our petition and that they are going to fight along with us. I can tell you, I contacted mine via email and I am still waiting for a response, almost a week later. I will be calling again tomorrow, as they don't seem to answer their emails.
