I just got this owb kydex rig for my PM45. Now I'm ready for January 1st when open carry starts in Texas.

A bit of Star Wars Stormtrooper effect with that... not bad!

I wear khaki colored shorts alot in the summer. I wanted a color that didn't stand out too much.

No photo yet but I just picked up a DeSantis OWB speed scabbard for my Kahr K9.

I can't remember a time when my state did not allow open carry. It's always been, at least in my lifetime. Yet, practically no one carries that way--except when hunting, hiking, etc.

First of all, open carry is tactically foolish. Second, as supporters of gun rights, we should be careful not to intentionally aggravate and rally the gun control crowd. Flaunting your right in the face of those who oppose it, could backfire.

That's my opinion. I'll be the first to point out my opinion is no better than yours.

I really don't care to start a debate or hear from the "open carry is stupid" folks. This is my rig, and my choice. It's a very concealable pm45 not my fnx-45 tactical. Open carry means no penalty for gun being seen in public. I thought maybe there might be someone looking for a nice owb kydex holster and kahrs aren't easy to find an owb for. If this thread turns into an open carry debate I'll request it be locked.

I OWB often under an untucked t-shirt or a jacket. That would work well.

You started it out as being about "open carry"...you could of just posted picture of holster without the open carry comments.

I could have, but since I started the thread in "holsters and gear" sub-forum I figured that would imply that the thread is about that.

Nice clean looking rig.........................I wish I could open carry, without worry of a face planting. I do the same.................under a jacket, for now.

...that being the same color as your khaki shorts is a good idea. So even if it peeks once in awhile, it will be less noticeable. :yo:

totally 100% agree with you. Open carry to me, just doesn't make me more powerful, certainly gets one profiled. I just see no sense in it. We can open carry in Indiana but I see no one ever doing it. if there is a bad guy in the buildig, I would think an open carry would be first to be taken out. WHY ADVERTISE, Just sayin. I would think it would be more detrimental than beneficial..

As promised here is my Open Carry Rig... Kahr K9 in a DeSantis speed scabbard. I just ordered one of those new leather gun belts from Alien Gear. It won't arrive til this friday. Until then I'm doing fine with my Tactical 5.11 webb gun belt..

I might add. This Kahr K9 is probably the most smoothest, sweetest shooter I've ever owned..

I support Open Carry here in Texas but am personally debating here in Austin with the freaky weird people here. As it is I'm a near 100% concealed carry person with either my Kahr MK9 or Springfield EMP.

Here it is commonsense although there are plenty liberals I know especially in my church who disagree.

I've often wondered how Austin ended up in Texas? From what I hear the attitudes don't match most of the rest of the state.

Actually most of the large cities in Texas lean way left. Odd how the most populated places in the state are overrulled by the rest of the state. Lol.
