New here and doing some research on the CM-PM 9 and see that the slides are different on the latest generation. What other things did they change and when did they happen?
I tried to search but probably didn't word it correctly.

The slides never changed on the CM9. About the time the CM9 came out, PM9 slides changed to add a taper to the front. The barrel and recoil assembly were made slightly longer on the PM9 when the taper was added.

The CM9 is an economy version of of the PM9. There's about a $200 dollar difference in price and no difference in performance.

Thanks, I see that the guide rod had a taper machined into the end. When did that happen and have there been other slight improvements along the way that if I were looking at a used pistol I would look for a later model?

For what they cost I wouldn't be looking at a used gun. You never know how the previous owner abused or modified the gun. With a new gun you get a five year warranty. That in itself has got to be worth something. The warranty isn't transferable. If you're on a budget go with the CM9. You can buy a spare mag for a lot less than $200 dollars. If money is no object go with the PM9.

Money is not an issue but nobody likes to spend more than they have to.
