Hey all, I just purchased a new cw45 & went thru a ccw course. I only have 100 rounds through the gun, but man.... what an awesome weapon!
I plan on using this as my every day carry. Where do you guys carry? inside the waistband, shoulder rig?
Where I live, i'm thinking i'll carry outside the waistband on my hip until it's warm enough I don't have to wear a coat everyday, then I'm not sure..

Right now I carry owb strong side but I just ordered an Alien Gear 3.0 iwb. Even though I live in an open carry legal state I don't want my weapon seen. The CW45 is pretty good for owb carry but I'm tired of worrying if my coat or shirt is long enough every time I bend over or reach for something.

For CCW I carry my CW45 at 3:00 strong-side OWB in a custom Detroit Concealment Kydex holster. With this holster the gun rides high and tight to the body for minimal printing, although I live in a OC state so printing isn't much of a concern to me.

Since the above photos were taken, I have been using a Kimber 1911 Officer's flush-fit magazine for CC, which serves to reduce printing and profile even more over the factory mags.

Remora pocket holster - strong side jacket pocket (with cellphone & extra mag in the weak side pocket for balance). Too fat yet to carry IWB.

Carry with the MecGar Officer's magazine (nickel plated) for flush fit:

To the best of my knowledge, 1911 .45 mags will fit in the CW45

Yep - that MecGar is for an Officer's model 1911. My standard 7 round Govt. 1911 mag fits, but sticks out awkwardly.

I carry my CM45 or CW40 IWB up front about 11:00 or wherever it will fit beside the belt loop. I like that position as it never prints. In jacket weather I may carry my 8040 Beretta Cougar .40. or Sig P250 at owb at 3:00. Much depends on where I am going. A quick trip to our neighborhood grocer, or going into the larger city down the road a bit.

I'm thinking about the same. I bought a cheap IWB holster at a gun show, but I think i'm going to drop the $65 on an urban carry holster.

I had Black Hills Leather made a custom IWB holster of my own design, it carries deep in the waistband with a forward cant.

If you'd like one like this, call and ask Rudy Lozano to make you a BH 71 KCW45 version 3 and send him these pics. Mine works very well and was around $60 shipped which if you go looking at custom holsters for one of these, is VERY affordable!

I EDC my Kahr K9 in a DeSantis cozy partner IWB leather holster.. For a time I was wearing a Alien gear cloak tuck 3.0 however I Just couldn't get the cant right for me. The FBI forward cant on the cozy partner offers a much more natural draw and besides, that leather!

first runner up would be my CW40, same holster and for hot summer days or when I'm dressed light, my CM9...
