View Full Version : What do you use for a speed loader?

I tried searching several terms but couldn't find any threads about this. I have a couple 9mm's (2 are single stack and the other is a double) that could benefit from a mag load assist of some sort.
I just got my CW9 a few days ago and want to get it broken in as fast as I can at the range without spending all my time reloading.
So what do you guys use?

My thumb. I'm in no hurry at the range.

I use a Uplula. I have a double stack size, (comes as a single too), that works on almost all of my mags, double or single. Quick and easy.

+1 to Uplula.
I've got several including two for loading my 30 round 5.56 (10) waffle mags for my AKS74U.
IMHO every range bag should have one.

Buy the UpLULA. If anybody gives you s#&t, tell them it's for your wife. You won't regret the purchase.

+1 the UpLULA makes range time more fun with every pistol except .22s, well, and revolvers.

Uplula.
My arthritic thumbs appreciate UpLULA (http://www.amazon.com/Maglula-UpLULA-Universal-Pistol-Magazine/dp/B001HBHNHE).

Another +1 for the uplola. Don't get to range as often as I used to, but when I do I go through at least several hundred rounds. Don't use it necessarily for speed but sure is a finger saver..;)
Uplula is definitely easier, but not necessarily faster. Just cram the rounds into the mag until it is too difficult, then shoot a short mag or use your Uplula.
I find I need a little rest between shots depending on what I am practicing (doubletaps, Mozambique, slow Bullseye), and use magazine loading or cylinder loading as a "rest" between sessions.

I don't get in a hurry at the range. I like to stop and smell the gunpowder.;) Uplula gives me time to do that.

Being that I plan to put several hundred rounds down range when I go next, I know that my fingers would get sore and that would take away from the fun of shooting. I was looking online and i saw the UpLula and didn't really see much else. I'm kinda surprised, in a good way, that it is such a popular item.
Thanks for all the input, especially the meth tip.

I use this too. Made for a double stack but works with a single stack. There is a "reducer" that clips on the unit to better handle single stack.

I use an HKS 36 for my SP101.
OH, you mean an assist for people with girly hands to load a magazine...HTFU... or get an UpLula (or what ever)
Can't believe no one else came in with this.

Ahhh.... the whiff of gunpowder when you break open your O/U on the skeet range. "These are a few of my favorite things." :)
We tend to go to the range in pairs or groups so I more often just hand load a mag while watching my range partner shoot. It's more social.
But +1 UpLULA if you want a magazine loader. I've tried others that don't come close.

I didn't notice anything other than the uplula in the package. I did load a few magazines with it and thought it was kinda lacking when it came to the single stacks. Just a hotdog in a hallway feeling.... Hillary? Lol

Your comment was the only one I laughed at, which in this case isn't a bad thing.

So I've gotten some use out of this now and fits my single stack 9's and double .40 but not my double 9mm mags. Overall I really like it and it makes loading go faster which is nice.
Thanks for the recommendation guys.

I'm curious... which mags does it not fit? I've yet to find one myself.

That looks like what came with my SR40C. Simple and effective.
